Does it usually take this long?
Hi! I have been reading this message board faithfully for about three months now. I ordered my xb on Sept 18, 2004. I live in Indiana (where Scions have only been available since June). When we ordered our xb we were told that we should be able to get it in about 4-6 weeks. I wanted to wait until the first of Nov. because I could use my $400 rebate for being a graduate (I'm 33, married, and established in my community). The salesman didn't think this was a problem. I called the dealership about a month later (mid Oct.) and they told me that Scion didn't allocate them any xbs that time around. They said that they only get two scions per allocation and maybe two allocations a month. They put in a "wish list" but they are at Scion's mercy when in comes to getting something in. So, about two weeks I called them to inquire and they said that they have a BCP manual allocated to them with no pier date. I ordered a TCM manual. They said that they were going to check with other dealerships to maybe switch allocations. No word. So, this last weekend, we were on vacation in Tennessee and saw a BCP. LOVED IT. I called the salesman and told him (on his voicemail) that if they didn't have the BCP traded already, we would take it. I never heard from him. So, yesterday I called AGAIN. Salesman wasn't in, so another man took my call (he has helped us before). He checked the logs and said that he doesn't show any record of a BCP at all.... traded, allocated, invoiced.... nothing. I asked him why the other salesman told me all about the BCP. He had no answer for me. He said that on Fri. Scion allocated them a white one and a navy xb, both auto, neither what I have requested. This next Sat. will be 8 weeks with no scion xb in sight. What do I do???
wait...
that or go to a different dealership. i had almost the exact same thing happen almost i ended up taking a TCM Manual because it was the last xB for sale at that time in the 4 state area. thats just how it is and how allocation works. it really sucks sometimes.
hope everything works out for ya
