Default door paint question?

while my brother was waxing his BSP xb i noticed that the pillars and tops of the doors are painted the same color as the rest of his box. why is the BSP the only color that this is this way? on mine, these areas are a flat black. i'd love it if they were the same color.

They put black vinyl on the other colors. You can peel it off and you'll find that is painted the same as the rest of your car. Many people have done it and it looks very nice.

Yeah my BSP isn't painted either. Toyota was going for the one big window look when they did that.

I don't know. If you have one, just go out and check. It's easy to tell the difference between vinyl and paint and if there is vinyl it should have paint underneath since the whole car is painted before that is applied. I would suggest finding an inconspicuous spot to do a test peel from just in case.

Hey Guys! That is my car up there....

The process took me about 45 hour for the one side and about 30 for the other. Once you get the hang of it, the process is really easy.

And Yes, every scion (xa,xb,tc) has the black tape not including black cars.

If you have any questions let me know.

Register at photobucket.com. Upload pics. Copy line that starts with [IMG... and paste into reply. Done.
