Default Drive by wire??

I've searched and searched but nothing came up. I was wondering is the accelarator like normal car where the gas pedal is linked by a wire or is it actuator done where there is a sensor of somesort? I really didn't pay any attention to this whenever I got to test drive it just once. Thanks.

a sensor opens your throttle body no throttle cable is connected to it.
