Default ERROR 4

okay I still have the stock pioneer 6-disc in dash cd player/radio and it seems that every time i try to chnange over to the next cd is gives me an ERROR 4 message. What does this mean? I asked the dealership and they were no help. I tried looking it up online and i could not find anything. The only way to fix it i found was to turn the car off, then back on to see if it works and it if doesn't turn it off again. I also get an ERROR 3 message once in a while. any ideas?

common error that occurs with the 6-disc cd changer. you should have the dealership replace it under warranty.

even if the car itself is out of warranty they are supposed to replace it still.

I believe the error 4 fault description is - excessive current flow malfunction. I could be wrong but that info. should be in your radio manual.

Another thing is people using homemade CDs with homemade labels stuck on them.
The heat from the radio tends to peel off the label from the disc.
I think heat is a factor in the reaction to the adhesive compound of the label causing air pockets to develop under it. Then they start peeling and eventually jam in the drive mechanisms.

DON'T USE HOMEMADE LABELS ON YOUR CDs.

Why would the radio be covered if the cars bumper to bumper warranty expired?

I've never put any homemade cds in my car. however it never acted up untill i put this one cd in it. John Mayer's Try album. I think it was just dirty, but that should not mess up the radio like that.
