Default Exhaust tip removal

I know people say they got the stock tip off with a hammer and a screw driver but how? I lift the 2 little flaps and try everything to take it of. How the hell do you take it off, it wont even budge.

My original DC Sports tip on my RS2.0 literally fell off. ;) The welds just came loose.

Warranty replaced it with a new one, though.

Was weird.

My future bro-in-law has the RS2 and he had the same problem. Bad weld from the factory. He had his replaced from Toyota ... but the dealer gave him a hard time. We had to threaten to get Scion Corp involved before they decided to use the correct replacement.

For all others .. use a dead blow hammer to remove your exhaust tip. I did this on our NRG xA and it slid right off with no problems.

Yeah its hard to remove the tip on some mufflers but easy on others. I was surprised as well.

When my car was only a week old, my tip came off easily. I used a screwdriver to bend out the flaps, sprayed WD-40 between the pipe the tip, and tapped the tip off the pipe using a hammer and the screwdriver.

Well im looking for a chrome one possibly by Borla , A nice one but I want it to give it a OEM feel to the look , the search continues, but you have to admit, sometimes the stock tip is just too small to look at.

The stock tip is horribly too small. I need some chrome and something that fills up the hole a little better. If anyone runs across a good one thats the right size, post it up.
