Default factory tint removable???

i bought my box used, or "pre-owned" and it already had tint over the factory tint when i bought it. does anybody in here know if the factory tint is removable? i wanna rock the fishtank look but if it cannot be removed then i guess i'm gonna leave it as-is.

The factory glass is manufactured dark already. No way to "clear" it unless you bought the clear JDM glass, which is expensive!

The factory glass coloring can be removed but can't remember what takes it off right now. I think acetone or something like that.

Just saying that I heard that the color can be removed with a chemical. If it wasn't possible why would some say they have done it?

The glass on the stock xB is dipped in a chemical for the tint look, so I do believe it can be removed.

i haven't heard anything as the tint looks to be embedded inside the glass.

there's ammonia.. but that's used to remove actual tint film.

.... hmmm... hey Gabe...

i'd like to see this process that you talk about, cause despite what or any chemicals involved.. it is still WITHIN the glass... and made inside it... and cannot be removed.

it is put in during the glassmaking process.

we can always test a spot on your car Gabe.... wanna go at it?

Neither 35% or 20% will match exactly. The factory tint is like 28%. 35% percent works for me cause I like to be able to see out the windows at night.

it also depends on what brand tint is used, I have 15% on mine and it matches real close on the outside, and just a hair off on the inside, but I love it, keeps nosy people from looking in the car.
