This month's feature ride is no stranger to ScionLife. He is well known in the Pacific-South and Pacific-Mid regions and is a very well-liked person. Our featured ride for March is none other than David Ernst, better known as "Evil Dave".

Dave has been building cars since he was about 14-years-old and now at 38 he is still at it.

"My dad and my uncles have always had hotrods so I grew up building cars. I have personally built everything from a 600 HP '51 Chevy Delivery wagon to a 12-second street-legal VW bug and a whole lot in-between. Before I had the xB I owned a Ford Ranger work truck. I would still have it but I was in a four-car pileup and totalled it. This is where the money came from for the xB."

At first Dave thought that the xBs were ugly but he wanted something that stood out from the crowd. He got it anyway and has been having a blast with it since.

"This is my daily driver and my toy. I missed not having a car to customize for so long (about 3 years), that I have been making up for lost time. I go to shows or meets almost every weekend from San Francisco to LA and even one in Arizona. I am always doing something to it, either lighting mods or painting something."

"Besides all of that, I love the Scion family I have gotten into. I am currently working side by side with Scion Regional (Northern California) to put on meets, BBQ's and parties such as Exprescion 05", added Dave.

"The Nor-Cal guys are as close to me as my own family and being a member of Scion Evolution I can go anywhere in the U.S. and be welcomed. I love that kind of feeling. I used to be in all kinds of car clubs but these two have far better people in them."

Since Dave has been spending so much money on the xB, his wife now wants him to fix up her 2000 Civic even though she wouldn't let him for the past four years. "But now that she goes to shows with me, she really has gotten into the import scene and has a new appreciation for what we do".
