Should just slide it towards the rear and pull while you are sliding it. I'm not 100% sure, as I have not done mine yet, but that's pretty much standard on vehicles with side markers.

might be answered along with your question.... does toyota/scion have a website where users can go on to find out pretty much anything about the car(removing parts and what not)... sort of like a mechanics manual instead of just an owners manual. hyundai has a website like this. www.hmaservice.com ...... u have to have a user account but its so sweet to have. tells you how to do everything.

sorry to hijack your thread hotwheels, but maybe the same questions can be answered.

you pop out the fender wheel wells cover using a thin metal blade - i used a butter knife to pop out each "button" that holds the wheel well cover to the fender. then unscrew the 2 nuts from each light and the markers pop right out. then remove and replace the orange stockers with the clear.

turn your wheels (in) on the side you're changing - gives a little more room to work with.

I think runforestrun is thinking you meant the bumper reflector markers... They do have screws in them, but the fender markers should not.

He is refering to the bumper side markers. the fender side markers have clips on the front of them and they just pop out. I used a pocket screw driver with a thin cloth over the tip to gently pry at the front of the lens. it doesn't take much force.

I think I heard someone mention one time that with very little trimming, the clear corners for an Altima (don't quote me on this) fit the xA. They said all you have to do is trim the foam around the outside of it and its a perfect fit.

Ok, you can find this information on PG 65-19 of Volume 2 in the Scion 2005 Repair Manual for the xA.

I looked, they say you need to remove the grill, the lower sopiler pads, and the bumper cover.

Grill and bumper removal instructions can be found here.

the FENDER markers just get pinched from the inside and popped outwards. The BUMPER ones have a screw then a slide to one side and popped outwards. I removed my bumper for a body kit that had no light. I still cant seem to figure out where the wire for the light goes to so i can remove it and all power going thru that wire.

David, Toyota DOES have such a site (http://techinfo.toyota.com/), but it is a paid subscription site. ScionLife also has the service manuals available in the tech section (see the grey "features" button above), but only to premium (paid) members.

Some regular members also have the manuals and will look up things if asked nicely - sometimes.

The manuals themselves (paper copies) are also available from Toyota, for a price, and often times books are easier to have on-hand while working on something that a computer screen...
