Default First In Warranty Repair: 697 Miles on the Odometer

Well I took my box in for service today, I couldn't believe it. It's still on its third tank of gas.

Anyway, nothing major, but the rear wiper blade became so warped that it misses about 3 inches of the glass. they got me a new one for free, but I'm curious, has anyone else had such a think happen to them?

I was thinking that it could be a sunburn type of a defect, but who knows. Anyone?

Weird...

Just so you know, about the next ten posts are going to be people asking why/if you even use the wiper and telling you that you should just remove it.

Alright, well I'm sure that they can be good forum citizens and just refer me to another thread on the topic and not hijack this one. A friend of mine bought a new GTI and refuses to use his front or rear windshield wipers, haha, so I try not to. I especially try not to use the sprayer feature in the back because of the mess it makes. Thanks for the advance warning Max

My 06 is almost a year old and the only warranty type work she's seen is just to have the hood adjusted. 10,600 miles and still going like the day I bought her...

My rear wiper did the same thing, so I took it back to the dealer. They just pulled on it and tried to bend it and said, "There you go." It still does it, so oh well.

Well, my rear wiper works OK, I use it, and don't want to remove it.

That's Too Funny!

My rear wiper was the First thing removed and have yet had a problem seeing out the rear window. Even in the snow!!!

REAR WIPER... Biggest waste of money IMO

Plus it will SCRATCH the crap out of the glass after the first few uses.

*SIGH*

Still have my rear wiper, use it a lot, but only when the window is WET. No scratches.

Hadn't heard of the type of problem you had, but I see at least one other person says they had similar. Hopefully it's just a rare problem and the new one will be OK for a long time.

Well, now that I know someone who works there (the Scion manager!) maybe I can get better service. He wasn't there at the time. I'll let them look at it when I take it in to have the lost plastic grille piece replaced tomorrow.

My dealer in Tuscumbia,Al mailed me my replacement one. I simply explained what happened and he said no problem. There was a topic way back talking about other people that have had this problem.
