Default Fog Light confusion, please help

So i am wanting to get some fog lights.

But I am not sure what it is I need.

I am looking at these two, and they are both from the same seller:

This is cheaper, and comes with diy wiring apparently

This one says it taps into the factory prewire and costs a little more

I have an 06.5, is it prewired? is there somewhere i can check to see?

I don't mind running the wire and tapping in the power and ground, but if i can drop another 20 and plug and play, I am lazy enough to do it.

Don't do it. Just get the factory or JDM fogs from a reputable seller. Those things don't even have reflective housings.

Im just using those two as examples, more to get an idea of which is which. The seller of both is the same, and it's the ssuperstore guys ebay store.

Im just wondering if i get the ones that use the factory prewire stuff if its going to be one of those thing where it only comes on with the lights. Id like to be able to run them independently.

You can run anything you buy however you want it.....

(if you know how to wire something)

With that being said, the xB is wired to an extent, the oem items come with

fogs w/ bulbs
a rocker switch
and a relay....

thats it

The wiring is already there, to get them or anything you buy with hardware to run independ. you're going to have to rewire some items (search the forums) and honestly if you're going to butcher the car... just get the cheapest avail to you.

The wiring for the rocker is behind the pop outs to the left
and your power can pretty much come from anywhere.

As for his mentioning of the reflective lenses, you'll have better output with an OEM or REAL JDM housing vs ebay.

But honestly... i have oem and i dont really see too much difference i just was bored and bought them

What I am wondering is this:

If i buy the foglights, am i going to need to run wires from the front clip, back thru the firewall and into the dash, or is that wiring already there.

Thats why posted the two different links from ebay. One comes with wiring and the other says it's for using the factory prewire.

Im not worried about splicing the wires for the relay, that DIY is what made me want the fogs.

ok this is what is going on all scion xbs have the fog light wiring what you need it a relay that goes under the dash and a switch and the fog light housings to use the wiring that comes in the car . the one that comes with the wiring harness is so you dont have to use a relay. and in my other post i showed a how to so that the fog lights will be on when ever you want and not just with the head lights. so that you can still use the stock wiring and still keep them on when you want. hope that answers your question.

I am not sure the one that shows the picture of some wires comes with them. Reading that add all I see as included is the lights the switch and the relay. I see little difference between the 2 items given that. Either item might be fine. I am always leery of aftermarket items like this tho. Some are good quality others may be crap. The problem is that until you get them in your hands or even in use for a while you can not tell which is which:/

You could find a plug that goes into the harness by the foglights and wire it up from there, i have no idea if a plug is available though.
