Default Fog Light Install Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ordered the foglights and today i went to put them in. I plugged them up but now what? Are they supposed to come on with the lights? I turned on the lights and no luck.

I thought they were plug and play. I got them used so i used tried new bulbs, just in case, but that didn't work either.

Is there something other than plugging them into the harness?

Is there supposed to be a dash switch i didn't get?

Am I just an idiot...wait, i already know the answer to this one....

Please help! I dont want to have to drive to the dealership in rush hour traffic to see if they have switch if thats what i need.

You should have the foglights, a relay and a switch.
Where'd you get em?

I bought them used. I got the lights and bulb. My xB is wired for fogs i have plug ins in the holes and what i think is a plugin behind the dash. I guess i either need to go to a dealership and buy the button if thats it..Could it be that simple? Can i buy a factory button and plug into the plug and be done?

or do I splice up some wires like this diy shows: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=213884

Although i dont know where the Green wire comes from. Its not mentioned in the write up, its just on the diagram.

The four wires for the relay are noted, but wheres the green wire at the top coming from?

It depends. Are the foglights Toyota factory? Or are they the aftermarket ones? If they're factory, the wiring is already in place, you just plug and go.

If they aren't factory, you're going to need to do some wiring.

I bought them used online

They might be OEM they might be aftermarket. All i have is two foglights. No kit, no relay.

I have a plug i got from Randode i was going to use for something else, but i can use it for the fogs.

I have the factory harness behind the pushouts in the grill and i have the factory harness in the dash.

If i wire it like in the diy, does that relay remove the need for the factory relay?
Is that green wire in the diagram the green and yellow wire on the factory in dash harness?

No you will still need the factory relay installed into your fuse panel and a factory switch unless you want to cut and rewire a diff switch there are install pdf's on Sparks Toyota sight you can download
That DIY is to make them come on independent of headlights.

Yikes, that relay is super expensive.

You can get them on ebay.

I got mine for best offer 5 bucks.

Getting the relay on is the fun part.

Many SL Threads on these topics.

good luck
