FREE (used) K & N filter!
OK, guys, I've got a used (and VERY dirty!) K&N filter I'd like to give to a fellow SL-er! You'll have to buy a "FilterCharger" kit (about $13-$14) to clean and re-oil it, but I'll even pay for shipping within the lower 48 states. Other than being dirty, its in very good condition. These are typically around $40 - $45 new.
There are stipulations: you've got to be a student -and of typical student age! - so if you're 39 and the CEO of your company, please don't apply! I'm trying to reward kids going to school who don't have the cash for stuff like this. The other stip is that I'll only ship to the 48 contiguous states. Sorry, I'm footing the bill, and any other shipping is a PITA, so please don't ask.
So, let me know if you want/deserve it!

Hey,
Im 24 years old. Going to College and working part time 2nd shift to help pay off loans. Recently purchased a preowned 2005 xB and I love it. Unfortunately I havent been able to do any mods to it yet, cause on a pretty tight budget. But I hope to save up for rims by the summer (still sitting on stock hubcaps=sad) and then get a drop.
I dont really know much about cars and engines yet. So if installing the K&N filter requires a lot of know how and tools, then probably disregard my post. Since taking it to the shop and having them install it would cost quite a bit.
Thanks for having a look, and that is really generous of you. Whoever gets it... congratulations.

Its really not difficult at all. You remove the top of the airbox, (which is right in the center of things under your hood; a rectangular shaped "box" running front to rear with hoses and things coming out of it) by unclipping two "flip" latches at the front of the box. Then unscrew the clamp holding the large diameter ribbed rubber hose coming from the front of the airbox to the intake, and slip that hose hose off. You can then wiggle the top of the airbox off and - ta-da! - there's the filter. Take the old one out, put the new one in, and you're golden!
hey man thats really chill of you. i just got my xb and im still in highschool and since im 15 still i cant get any jobs hence me having no money to mod it. i havent done any mods yet except for debading it. id love to get a K&N filter for free.
