My thoughts exactly. Now I have to admit in my youth I used to do "doughnuts" in snow covered parking lots in my '71 Pinto, but I'm sure you can think of much better ways to get your adrenaline fix than ragging on your xB...

What do you know about McDrifting? Thats right, McDrifting. You take two of the plastic trays that you get at McDonalds when you eat in and place them under your rear wheels. Lock up the ebrake and then drive. Youll have more fun than you ever thought you could have in the rain or snow.

Already suggested it dude (look at my post).

Except I didn't call it McDrifting.

Wow, I want that three minutes of my life back. Pretty far fetched to call that drifting at all.
Look forward to seeing you at Formula D next year... or maybe you can be a shoe-in at D1 at Irwindale... God knows how talented the rest of the American drifters are...

Thats fun and all for twenty seconds, but it you want to do it for about twenty minutes, grab 2 2x6 peices of wood about two feet long and use that, makes it drift alot longer and is easier to start. As you get going you can see two white trails from the wood where the sliding is and not have the cops made for marking up the road. Also the mcdonalds near hear called the 5-0 on a kid stealing trays to do this.

Wow....rollover
rember scions are boxes and not made for drifting, it is easy to roll. i have come close twice

Hmm.... I never wanted to come off as the typical american "omg dorifto lolz" person. This was just a simply "drifting" or whatever you want to call it fun with the xb. I've had my xb for more than a year now (1 year and 4 months). Gradually, I've taken the box up to its limit, to find out its limit. I've never once encountered a near-rollover incident or whatever; not even during the taping of the video. I felt safe and stable inside the box.

Trust me, if I didn't feel safe or scared of a tip over happening anytime soon in my box, I wouldn't be doing this. I'm well aware that I've been on 3 or maybe 2 wheels (probably, probably not) while turning at any time and during this rainy night. Still, the center of gravity is pretty damn low on the xB and I didn't ever notice a rollover happening. I felt safe and comfortable in there. One gripe I have about the xB altogether; despite the lack of power, is the lack of snug fit of the seats. I'm looking into getting Sparco or whatever seats once I get the money so I can fit nice and snug in there.

Just wanted to get that across. Have a good day all.

hammy - I'm well aware of the forumla SAE team but I just do not have the time to be doing anything, I'm pretty much busy with the hell that is called RIT and hanging around with friends. I miss the OC though, even though it's boring, there's no place quite like it.

Don't be showing that to your insurance company.

Default wtf is a WMV file?

I really, really, REALLY wanted to see that DriftBox video, but my Mac doesn't know what to do wit it. Any suggestions on how to play this (apparently it won't unzip or whatever on my iBook)? Thanx . . .

Hayalex6,

thanx for the WinDOZE media player file. I downloaded, installed, and was able to run the clip OK---looked like a lot of fun.

That sideways/spinner stuff: I used to do the same with my Scirocco, then GTi, then Subie wagon, 'cept I did it on ice/snow with the handbrake.

Interesting.......those were more semi controlled skids than drifting. To drift is to push a vehicle to the point of adhesion loss while still maintaining forward motion. You were more hooking it than drifting. Regardless of what it was, thanks for posting it and stay safe.

Try finding a place where you have clear apex, like the entrance to a parking lot. Come wide into the turn, snip the apex and drift baby drift, cause if you ain't driftin, you aren't racing.

Good luck

Yea, you're right but it's as close to drifting when it comes to the xB. Plus it's a FWD, not RWD or AWD.

That was just a spur of a moment temporary parking lot. If I wanted to have a night full of drifting, I'd have to wait til it snows and drive 30 min away to this big parking lot and videotape it. :D
