Default Gasoline Companies?

I tried searching for this but couldn't find anything on it. What gas companies are best to use? Which are worst? I mean this by for your car, I've been doing research on which gas I want to switch to but my research has not been car based but rather enviroment and socially responsible companies. Now I just wanna decide which one is best for my car. So lets hear it.

umm, its all gas to me! gets me from point a to point b. Some people swear up and down that one brand is better than the other. But I've never had a brand loyalty when it comes to gas. Its like being a fan of satan in my eyes. I go where its the cheapest! or where ever is closest. Sometimes its arco, other times 76, maybe mobil or chevron! you never know. I like to keep it interesting!

I dont notice any performance gains or losses between any of the different "brands". The only thing I see making a difference is the octane level...

Some of the top-tier brands do include detergents and other chemistry not found in off-name or private label brands. However, bottom line IMHO is how your car does with an off-name.

My box runs fine on cheap-o gas, although I do not push it very hard. The wife's Prius knocks when she runs with gas from Kroger; does not knock with Shell or Chevron.

I go to sinclair

also most people neglect the fact that gas is different from station to station, it isn't just the chemicals in the gas, but some stations have water in their gas, just go around and see what station you get better gas mileage at

I like shell and chevron. Try put a feul line filter and you will see there's many "stuffs" in the gas. There's reason why some gas companies like shell and chevron are little more expensive then others is because they actually clean their filter in the gas station more often then like Arco and other non major brand.

well we don't have any chevron's around these parts, and the shells are generally way over priced, difference of nearly half a dollar per gallon, and their gas sucks, I've had to dump the gas tank in my truck thanks to shell gas before, clean gas my foot, that crap was brown

I stick to sinclair, and generally the same gas station, oh and 99% of your sinclair stations use the old style pumps, IE NOT DIGITAL thats probably why you don't have them round there since theres several states that are full service only

lol no wonder you've never seen a sinclair, which is also an all independently owned company, meaning that the stations aren't corporate owned like shell, chevron, valero, and so on

(1) Toyota/Scion recommend using ONLY "TopTier" fuels in any of the US market vehicles. (2) "Top Tier" fuels must meet Toyota specs via independent lab testing. (3) You can spend the slight premium for the Top Tier gasoline and expect no trouble from deposits over the life of the engine, or you can go to cheaper non-qualifying fuels and just expect that sooner or later you will have problems from deposits.

Using Top Tier or Cheapo will probably give you similar performance, short haul. The difference is the long term health of your engine.

The Top Tier site, http://www.toptiergas.com/ gives some basic info and a COMPLETE LIST of manufacturers who's fuel meet Toyota specs.

http://www.caranddriver.com/article....&page_number=1 is a writeup from 2005 on Top Tier Gas.

More info? Try this: http://www.google.com/search?q=top+tier+gas

BTW, this had been discussed for page after page here on ScionLife... try a SEARCH.
