getting rs 3's
you know I really don't understand how they are distributing the rs 3's either but I know I saw a post that said sandy springs and cobb county toyota in atlanta had three each and I called. Yes they both still have one left and none of them were sold before the got them. My dealer in st. louis here told them it is already sold and it's still not here they are said should be here between 24th and 29th this month. Now about the color I have heard people say they do not like the color and they are all people who have only seen picture well I just picked my strut tower brace that is color keyed to the color of the rs 3 and it is awsome in the sun. what you cannot see in pictures is the little bit of gold color that shows up in the sun it makes the color alot brighter and gives it personality..........
Sadly I believe the distribution of the RS 3 was based on the dealerships sales and the kind of "pull/connections" they have with Scion Corp. Not on whether or not a dealership had a deposit on a car.
As far as the color, you are right. Pictures in no way do it justice. In the shadows it looks good but in the sunlight it looks awesome! It has gold metalic flakes that come out in the sunlight. I have had it only a short time and I have had several great comments on the color.

ya gotta love the color, i havnt seen a picture on the net that can even come close to a true representaion of the true color. how close is the strut bar to the actual paint color? i ordered mine on friday. How much did you pay?
the story my dealer gave me was they were allocated based on sales from past quarter. So however your area did last quarter determined the amoutn of rs 3.0s your dealer got. now.. alot custers wer SOL due to that dealers had 5-6 orders and only got 1-3 cars.
The Color should be the exact same as the car and it looks good. It was 175.00 plus tax which was about 185.60 or something close.....Here are some pictures I just don't have the car yet to compare it to.......

how scions are allocated....
ok here is the skinny~ Yes a few of you got it right on how we earn the vehicles, but its based on a quartely turn.. not like the toyota's where is bases off of you monthly/weekly earn and turn basis...
I am the inventory manager and scion manager so when we have a cool thing coming out we have to preference for them.. If say your dealers just order the same hohum stuff, you won't get those cool green xb's!
I know that SET and LA regions are the top selling Scion Area's in Toyota, so it does help getting more of all the Scions..
Sorry.... Come down for spring break and drive back in a rs 3.0.... (lol) jk....

There's more to the Scion allocations than even what Scioneyes describes. Its not all about turn rates when it comes to the limited edition cars. Those are "hand allocated" by the district manager. He will give stores more cars depending on how they do on their last audit. If a dealer has a "Scion Champion", they are more likely to get the better cars. Its not a perfect system, but the stores with better CSI and the ones who are doing things the way Scion wants them done generally get more of the RS series cars.

Gosh, I didn't realize how hard to get theses cars are. Like a lucky stiff I just waltzed into the showroom and bought it -- didn't have to pre order or wait -- it just sorta happened. With a red Xa as a stablemare , it's like Christmas all the time!

"Hand Allocated"???? NOT ME! My DM Hates ME!
If I sell 40 xb's and i want to get rs 3.0's and they are in the next allocation, i must 1st preference for them and also remember that if i have any "presold" i must reguest a special order via dpms'ing in the prior month! Bring it, i have been doing this for 5 years and I know "hand allocated" has never been placed in my inventory! I am the "scion champion" also so better cars is nothing but horse pucky...
Do your job and do it well, you will get everything you deserve....
