This is unbelievable. I make a comment and everyone assumes I'm ___. I made a comment because my eleven year old, car fanatic son found this site. I figured it was okay because the adult guard on my computer let him view it. Call me uptight or ___ or what ever makes you feel good about yourself. But I thought this was a family site. It may be hot but remember your kids are looking too.

 

Your son would see more skin at the beach than on this thread. Besides, I see no nudity, just clothed, attractive girls.

The human body is nothing to be ashamed of. Does that mean that kids should be able to see everything just beause it exists? That's the thing about growing up, you take life in in stages as you are ready for it.

 

I understand where you are coming from. I am a father too. That fact is, I don't let my 12 yr old son surf around on this site because I know that suff is on here. I'm glad the mods don't allow any out-right pornography, but some of the stuff on here is pretty darned close to it. I also don't want him to see the language that's used. I'm not telling you what to do with your son, but I advise against unsupervised surfing anywhere.

 

If your son is over 13 years old, chances are he has already seen much more nudity than what is on this site.

Although I feel the average person in America is too uptight about sex/nudity. Looking at a boob does not turn someone into a sexual maniac.

Okay guys....let's not jump all over Garret. The nature of his complaint was that he was surprised to see that kind of stuff on this site. Let's not get into a big thing about whether or not it's okay for kids to see it. That decision is up to that kids parents....period. You might think something is fine for your kid, while I might not want my kid to see it. I think the main issue here, is whether or not you want to allow your child to view what's here. I personally do not, but that's me. You might feel differently.

I was just surprised to see it on a family site. You wouldn't see it on anything else labeled family.

My wife and I do supervise our kid. That is why I have an adult guard. That is how I know he found this site. And that is why he was banned from it.

It isn't that I don't enjoy the human body. I'm a red blooded male like everyone else I'm just a freak that doesn't look for it on the net. I think when you are a parent, you tend to react first as a parent. I think it's a shame that a site that has so much info to offer can't be available to car lovers of all ages. Especially since it says it is.

Yes it does. The rules and all throughout the threads the mods have been saying it. And it has to be filed as such or my guard would have picked it up.

 

I'm sure you know this, but NEVER trust a filter to be the only guard between your kids and the internet.

That explains it. I never read the rules. It also tells me that there have been alot of people breaking alot of rules on here!

In regards to 'whipple81's comments, I am the one who edited the original part in CAPs to what it says now. Teh original text was much more offensive. I must have missed the rest of that paragraph so I will go back and edit it.

And finally I will let out one more final warning to you guys. 98% of you in this thread are playing by the rules and have not posted anything questionable at all. Of the remaining two percent, one percent of you cleaned up the bad pictures and took care of the ones that dont belong here. The final one percent however, insists on trying to get this thread locked and deleted. If there isn't a Scion in the picture (a real Scion lol) DO NOT POST IT HERE. If there are any more pictures that get gratuitously posted just because they have a hot girl in them, I will lock this thread, delete it and have admin put the offenders in the penelty box. If something does go up that shouldnt be here and you care to be proactive about it, PM ME. I will take care of it and deal with the offenders individually rather than taking away a thread that even I check in every day for new pictures.

Sigh.....I only grouchy in part today because there is 3" of snow outside and I am still stuck here at work........ bad day to break the rules here on SL.

I do agree that filters should not be expected to do the job of the parents (I am NOT saying anyone is doing that by the way).
