Black Cherry Pearl. Great color, but damn, it gets dirty fast. *sigh*

 

I was considering turning mine in for Salsa Red...they were willing to let me order it and told me it would be about four weeks wait. NOT December. They were looking at paperwork and the colors are right there with the rest of them.

For a car company who says they all know and are capable of the same things they sure dont all have the same info do they!!!

 

they definitely don't all have the same info. every dealer i call seems to have different info and is guessing. one dealer i called today wasn't aware of the pricing for the '06 models until he read the press release on scionlife.com. i'm not bashing them. they are good people. it just seems like they aren't getting info from scion corporate HQ like they should be. they're getting info right now the same way that we are...press releases and websites.

on the other hand, working in a sales environment, most companies want you to sell the product you have today and not "sell futures." they don't want you to talk about the '06 model or the next release b/c obviously people hear that and it stops them from buying NOW. if you have 2 more months worth of '05 scions you want to sell the rest of your inventory. you can't discount these cars to get rid of the '05 models at the end of the season. like in my case, i was about to buy a scion xB. i read the '06 press release and realized they're coming out soon so i waited.

 

I read one of the threads about the new xA (ist) and saw that photo of the new iPOD integration. I don't know if anyone is willing to do the 260 dollar upgrade. It's just not that worth it.

Also, the new 2006 xB/xAs are getting that sweet steering wheel with volume control to my knowledge. Too bad for tCs I believe. Oh yeha.. the upgrade might not come with that steering wheel.. shucks..

 

I was also told the xB will NOT have steering wheel controls only xA.

its all good... I think the subs that we can fit in our box will make us forget about the iPod connectors HEHE

 

bBsact: i read the scion press release and if you read it closely it looks like only the xA and not the xB will get the steering wheel volume controls. argh!

that's really annoying. i don't understand why they can't add the controls on the steering wheel to the xB when they can add it to xA. if you don't think the $260 is worth it what would you suggest as an alternative for iPod integration? i know nothing about stereos.

Hey I think there was an explanation a while back as to why there are no controls on the xB but I can't remember why. I'd think the xB would need it more what with the amps and boxes...I mean WE NEED MUTE on the steering wheel!!!

We had it on our Monte Carlo SS...personally JMO!!! I think it's kinda tacky looking on a car that so many ppl are fixing up. JMO!

 

they won't start implementing the new color until december.

Any reason given for this schedule? I want an '06 xB in red salsa. You're saying I have to wait not just until the '06's come out, but until December??? Is there official documentation of this? I've spoken with 9 different dealerships, and most of them are clueless regarding '06's. Where are you getting the information? (I'm not challenging your claim, just mystified by dealer ignorance.)

I dug it up in the Scion News & Press Releases forum, so I can't really confirm the valdality of the information. Now that I think about it, it doesn't really make sense.

I just called Findlay {they sponsor us for SE over here} they told me I could PRE ORDER my 06 in Salsa Red right NOW!

Im confused too bc they seem to be the best dealer in our area, maybe I'll post to Verone! He works for Longo Toyota in CA! He MIGHT know closer to the truth.

 

LVScionGal: EVERY dealer i've called has said that i can preorder a scion now. i thik it's their way to hook you in. once you preorder w/them then it will guarantee that even if it's 2 months until the scion comes in that you'll be buying it from them. i was going to preorder but decided not to. i don't want to be tied to one dealer. whichever dealer gets it first then that's where i'll be buying it.

 

It's to the advantage of the dealer and Toyota to not detail too much on the '06 models while they are still trying to sell '05 ones.

Obviously they have to come clean at some point so there is likely a date after which the info becomes public and we'll begin seeing commercials, website updates, dealer info, etc.

I would guess we won't have any info until at least August, just to sell as many '05s as they can.

 

For all you people, the Shadow Mica is the replacement for Camoflage, it is a darker GREEN.

That color is NOT Green IMO! Ive seen it in person...its Charcoal Gray with flakes of about two other colors. BUT this is JMO. It almost looks black.

Maybe I need to see it in the sun. We have our meeting there tomorrow Im going to ask them what color the clasify it as again. They told me dark gray.

BUT what do they know.
