Default Going tomorrow to put a deposit on a RS 3.0 and have ??'s

So I've been working on locating a RS 3.0 for about a week and a half now. It's been funny because there's so few left out there especially manuals (manual for life) I called 5 different local dealers on it. The first I spoke with a guy and he was just yanking my chain to try to get me into the dealership to sell me on something else. I spoke with a lady at another dealer and she had no idea what I was talking about concerning the release series and never got back with me on the results of her search. Another guy said that they had 3 sitting on the lot. I asked what color they were and he said blue, so I busted his ___ when I told him that they only come in 'Envy Green'. The last guy finally found one that is a manual and said that I would just need to come in and put a deposit down on it and they would have it sent down.

So......my questions are these:

-As far as financing goes right now I know there aren't any real 'deals' but is it possible to pay off the balance ahead of time without paying all of the interest on the loan? If not, I'll just go through my bank for the financing.

-I know that they'll try to sell me on some warantee plans, but do you really deem them necessary?

-Also another big selling point is add-on accessories. What accessories, if any would you recommend getting through the dealer? And are the RS 3.0's factory tinted?

-What was your experience in purchasing your RS 3.0?

1) you'll pay some but not all listed on the loan paperwork
2) extra warranty depends on your driving habbits.. you may pass up the milage limit way quicker than the year limit
3) depends on how many add ons your willing to tackle your self... if cruise controll is an option for you (varys by dealer/region) that maybe something you want the dealer to install + it'll be covered by warranty.. ... most here will say if you can DIY or know a friend who can/willing... its cheaper

4) i know regular xBs fronts are not tinted... not sure if RS3's have tinted fronts tho... rear doors/windows are all tinted stock

5) dunno... didnt buy a 3.0

Hmm....so the rear window and back side windows are the only tinted ones? How hard is it to match tints?

Thanks for your answers too btw

dude make sure there not pulling your chain. Make them show you on the computer that a RS3 is coming. On the computer it will show the inventory that is coming to them. I hate dealerships because they make you come in and show you something your not intrested in.

Yeah, believe me, I'll be wanting copies of paperwork, anything I can get my hands on. One sales guy tried pulling that on me already, but he never got me in the door. I try to tell people that I only want the RS because I only like limited edition things and some people get it and others don't. I have a Mazda Protege MP3 right now, case and point.

I added window tinting, floor mats, arm rest and taillights to mine. For me the armrest, tint and floor mats were a MUST. The taillights, I got those because I can't stand the stock XB lenses.

The armrest makes driving the vehicle MUCH nicer and more comfortable.

I'd be intersted to know if there are some still on lots somewhere. My dad has thought about getting one for my mom to putt around in instead of her Excursion.

IF you are going there and putting the deposit, make sure that it is refundable deposit and they show that in writing. I always feel uncomfy about putting any deposits on the car that dealers don't have... (my dealer didn't ask me for a deposit...)

Most dealers around here will take a deposit, but they will refund because they said the cars will sell one way or another. But I would get it in writing either way..

I like the TYC tail lights, but I would definitly get them online, much cheaper and its not that hard to install.

Default Warranty

-As far as the warranty goes, Only get it if you do not plan on doing too much to your car.
-When financing your car, only get a loan that there are no early payoff penalties.
-Cruise is the only accessory that I would have the dealer put on, if that is what you want. I had a few things added to my car through the dealer, and regret it every day. They do really good work but you can find the same stuff online for half the price and nothing is hard to do on these cars. I am a far cry from a mechanic and have done alot of my stuff in the garage. My advice is to hold off on the accessories, especially floor mats they are half the price online, keep looking on here, ask alot of questions and you will get more than enough help.
-The only windows not tinted are the front ones and they are easy for a good tint man to match up.
-Good luck and god speed!!

Is it just the RS that comes factory tinted? I am hoping to get a xB in a few weeks, but don't remember if the one I drove was tinted or not. If they all are, does anyone know what level they are tinted to at the factory? I generally like 20% tint, although it is getting harder to find a place that will do it. Obviously I won't want 20% tint on the front if the back half is 30% or higher.

Get the car bone stock. Come out to a Scinergy Georgia Tech day and we will help
install just about anything. We've lowered about a dozen cars. All three models with
either springs or coil-overs. We've installed lights on everything that doesn't move
and a few that did. Stereo systems and electronics. A few guys have done carputers.
Headers and intakes galore. And many other custom one off mods. Heck, I did my
supercharger in my garage and I'm wiring up my wife's RS 3.0 tonight with interior
cathodes. The only thing we got from the dealer where floor mats and the limited RS
3.0 green TRD strut brace. They only made 400 of those so good luck finding one.

Check out the forum at WWW.ScinergyGA.com

We love to play with cars.

Toyota Financial Services lets you pay off anytime during the loan period and you will save the remaining finance charges.

This is all great advice!! Tell them to not drill out your bumper for the license plate. The glass on the sides of the xBs are dark but they are not tinted--just the color of the glass. True JDM is totally clear. I find it hard to believe that anyone can get you a RS3 at this point in time. Have not seen one on a dealer lot in a couple of months. Good luck to you.............

I can't stress this enough. Ordered mine without holes and they did them anyway. The dealership ended up paying for a new bumper as I refused delivery until it was fixed.

holes are not a problem in Georgia as we don't have a front plate.

Crap! Today is definitely a Monday. The car they were supposed to have picked up today to be brought here was sold over the weekend. I'm a sad panda.....there are officially no more manuals left in the world

Nope, doesn't seem right to me either. Needless to say I won't be dealing with them in the future.
