Default Got some questions for everyone...

Hey everyone... I am in PA looking at buying an xA sometime in mid to late July. I have a few questions for those people who have been running an xA for a few months...

1) How have they held up? Have you needed to take them in for work at all? How much has it cost you for scheduled work (oil, lube, rotation, and other stuff).

2) What is your number one complaint/request/wish about your xA? Could it have been taken care of by adding something to the car when you initally bought it (springs, strut..)?

3) Does anyone know the price on the 17" TRDs? I have been able to find the price on the 15" alloys... But not on the 17" TRDs. Or, would anyone suggest another set of rims? I am not looking for anything crazy, just something bigger than the 15" stock wheels... Myabe I'm just being stupid, but the 15s just seem way to small. What are your thoughts?

Anywho... Thanks in advance for the suggestions!!

1) It is a toyota, so it is holding up great. Scheduled maintaince will be determined by the dealership.

2) Complaint most people have is the ride. The springs are stiffer then normal due to the "sport tuned suspension". People have changed out the springs and gotten a better ride.

3) sorry, don't know the price.

lower the car and see if you still hate the 15s.

filling up the wheel wells with bigger rims and tires may end up making the gearing worse, and the wheels/tires heavier, and the car drastically slower.

some 16s or lightweight 17s would be fine tho im sure.

I've had mine since September. I live in Washington, so I had to go to Cali to get it, but it was so worth it.

1) Regular mantainance will keep this car running well. Like ikon said, it's a Toyota.

2) At first, I was upset that there was no sunroof, but I got pass that. I opted to get none of the dealer options, because I knew that I would be getting other things. Cruise Control is up on the list, but probably not #1. The floor mats iritate me, because they are rather cheap, and they will look worn after only a couple weeks. I've never put my feet on mine, but that's what I've heard from everyone else. I went to Costco, and bought a set for $40 to use, and I use the factory ones at car shows. I think my #1 complaint about the car though, would have to be the center arm rest. I really wish they put one in. I haven't purchased the ist one yet, but I've heard it bolts right in.

3) I don't know the price of those. Again, I didn't get them because I knew I was going to get another set of rims. Even though the rims I bought are gonna end up as show only rims, I'll still probably just drive around on the stockers. Tires are cheaper, and I don't really care about the rims when I'm driving.

Hope you get the car, it's a lot of fun.

I've had mine for 3 months and 5000 mi. I do my own maint./inspections so that's no big deal. NO warranty issues.

What would I like in a Xa? More POWER!! They are pretty zippy but more power would be MUCH more fun. My wife wants an arm rest but I don't soooo she won't get one 'cuz I'm not installing it!!

Yes, the stock springs are pretty stiff=bumpy ride. Eibach springs cured that + better handling.

My 17" wheels (not TRD) with 215/45 tires weigh about 6lb each more than the stock steel wheel/tire combo. They don't noticeably affect the handling or acceleration but unsprung weight and rotating weight are ALWAYS a hinderance to performance.

These cars have tremendous potential that has yet to be tapped.
