Default Has Anyone Had Any Paint Issues With Their 2006 XB's Yet

I Have Just Recently Purchased The New XB RS4.0 And I'm very happy with the car except the paint on the hood has two spots about the size of a hand .To me it looks like the clear coat that is on it is raised from the paint.I was just wondering if anyone else has the same problem as me and if so how did you get the problem fixed

If theres anyway u can take a pic of ur hood so we can see but i think its covered under warranty and toyota would repaint the hood for ya or go back to the dealer and see if ya sweet talk them into takin the hood off another xb same color lol jk but its underwarranty .
But there was a warrenty bullentin sent out on this / Usually its just mosture under the clear coat u can take a either a heat gun or hair dryer and warm that section of the paint not to get to close to melt paint but just move the heat back and forth over the area to help the trapped moisture out or u can use those 500watt halogen work lights and set it in front of ur xb just let the light warm the hood . Mine had 3 spots on my xb like that 1 on the door /1 on the hood / 1 on the rear hatch and the heat trick worked be deferent if u lived down in Florada were its still warm the sun would do the trick lol

I have a 2006 Black Sand pearl, and there are 2 little spotts about the size of a dime, on the right side of the hood that look like rippled. almost like when the metal under the paint starts to rust, and the paint kind of bubbles up. So i dont know, i think imm gonna take it up to the dealer and see whats up, even though theya re only noticeable when the cars super cleaned and waxed, I am super OCD when it comes to that stuff.

It should disappear after being in the sunlight for a couple weeks. For some reason moisture gets trapped under the clearcoat. This happens from the plastic they put on the paint during transit. Somehow moisture gets trapped under the clearcoat and takes time to evaporate. It happened to me when my bra got wet underneath.
Do the spots look like a haze? They should slowly disappear over time and heat.

You mean other than the massive amount of orange-peel? My clearcoat looks like it was applied by a visually-impaired chimp...

what the moistere/haze is is called blushing that will go away but is not a good sign , the raising of the paint is a very bad sign even if it shrinks it means there is no bond bewteen the paint and the metal. your paint is covered under the warranty and they will fix/repaint it if you report it.

well I took my BOP back because all of the jams have paint chipped out of them nice long 1 - 3 inch strips out of both rear door jams, and the hatch jam, on the hatch too, the hatch is the only door I ever open, I took it in for that and they said and I quote "not our fault, you chipped it"

It Really Is A Shame That for What We Paid For Are XB's That They Have So Many Issues Like This Hopefully In The Future They Will Correct All Their MISTAKES Before They Release Them To The Market

From what I know of Paint well clear coats I believe it was a glitch in the robots cpu that it waited to long in between clears and the coat underneath hardened thus peeling

It should go away over time. I got mine from using the quarter carwash with the bra on (big no no). Left the bra on for several days with the water trapped underneath and got the haze. Took about a month for it to go away. Bewitched, just keep an eye on it to see if it starts to fad over time.

haven't noticed a lifting per se however i do have several spots of clear coat that has failed looks like a cracking/crazing about dime size on the roof the hood and a few other spots. the right front fender has a rust spot poking through. however living in the south east i don't have the genuine toyota warrenty but rather a third party deal so not covered

The only issues I continue to have are with rock chips and scratches due to the super soft low quality paint. It's a constant battle to keep it nice looking.

paint is never covered under warranty. dont know who told you that. the car is covered if it begins to rust, but thats it. you will just get the "not our fault" response like they gave jwaj2002...

That isn't 100% true. If the paint has a defect in it that caused it to come off your car. For example I knew a guy who owned a rustang (I know it is a Ford) and the paint started to flake off. There was no rust on the car and it was driven only in the summer. Ford had to repaint it. It took some complaining but it wasn't because of chips are neglect.
