Has the xB's Value gone up?

Has the box gone up in value or is it just me?

Helpin my sister look for a car, told her she should get an xB, she kinda turned her nose up at it when I got it but now loves it. Had mine about a year now, it's an 2006.5 had 3100 mi on it and got it for 11,500 last July. So, I started lookin hunting for one for her and was amazed! The cheapest I've seen so far is an '04 with 44k for 12,900!

It's not just you:

Just a few examples of how high some places are asking up here.

Interestingly, I got some snail mail from Toyota asking me to trade in my xB for pretty much any car on the lot. One of my co-workers bought a RS3 xB a couple weeks ago after months of trying to get one. They are definently in short supply.

crashdad 07-09-2008 10:11 PM

I paid 12,900 for my 04 a little more than a year ago, when it had 19,000 miles on it. Today it has 36,000 miles and KBB sez it is worth 13,200.

I did mine with Kelly Blue Book last year, and this year it is $1000 more than last year.

Holy Moly!

From KBB:

2006 Scion xB Sport Wagon 4D

Blue Book Suggested Retail Value

Condition: Excellent (which Stubby is -- like new)

Value: $16,470

WOW!

I don't know what to think about this. I guess it doesn't really matter, 'cause I plan to drive Stubby until he's a heap of smoldering slag . . . or until I'm ded, whichever comes first . . . .

bmph8ter 07-10-2008 12:58 AM

I hope they're going up. Not because I want to sell them, but just to reinforce that I made a good choice in cars. Sell them? Pfft! I'll keep Jorge & Bonita until I die.

BoxedOUT 07-10-2008 01:01 AM

It has definitely gone up!

I bought my B this march with 32k miles on it for 12k and KBB has it in excellent condition with 39k miles on it for 14,500!

Sciond 07-10-2008 01:03 AM

yep up it goes

Metro273 07-10-2008 01:08 AM

The Xb Classic will ALWAYS be wanted!
I think I would regret the day I decide to sell mine...NEVER!

Big_Bird 07-10-2008 01:09 AM

Holy ish my RS2 with 53k is worth $14,435, WOW!

Black_Sheep_xB 07-10-2008 01:22 AM

Yeah.. I think its pretty awesome.. I havnt seen a generally new econo car do that before..
I paid 14700 for my 06 manual new.. KBB is over 16..

Starbuck 07-10-2008 01:41 AM

Xb value

Yeah, funny how I couldn't get a single inquiry from anyone anywhere when I was trying to sell one of the lowest mileage RS 2.0 xb's a person could find, in MINT condition, with a KBB of 16.8K!!!!!! Now the people ARE willing to shell out whatever it takes to get one. It's not like I wouldn't have lowered my price a little when a serious buyer came along. Ended up selling it to CARMAX and even THEY sold it for way under KBB value!!! Yeah I AM GDF'n bitter about it. Then I run into a potential buyer..............after I sell it to CARMAX.............and get two letters in the last 6 mos or so from the Toyota dealership wanting to BUY it. What a EFFin' _____!!!! :tap: Wrong place, wrong time

Sciond 07-10-2008 02:06 AM

first 20,000 and mine is gone...... :lalala:

J/K

For 20K I'd even consider letting Vanilla go, but I'm just not sure I would.

No kidding!!

For 20 grand, my Stubby would be for sale!

In fact, ANY of my posessions are for sale . . . if the price is high enough!!

(No, my wife is NOT one of my posessions . . . . )

xBtony 07-10-2008 03:35 AM

Yeah when I was looking for one the price was going up every week...I even saw a RS 3 With nothing but 18" rims for 19K and it had like 30K miles...OMFG!!! So long story short its not just you.

snowromance 07-10-2008 03:39 AM

wow i would take $20k as well. I know i could go find another one for $15k and that's the only reason.

Puz06xB 07-10-2008 02:42 PM

That's awesome, I'd kinda find it hard to part with mine for 20k also even though that would almost double what I paid for it! To hear others say the same says alot about the box

Sciond 07-10-2008 07:24 PM

LOL I would just go buy another......RS3 here I come....
