I have an all black box. I am looking for some black housed head lights. I used to know of a company called darkside motoring that had some out there about 9 months ago. They were selling for I think 300 bucks. Does anyone know of any headlights like this or even similar that won't put me in the poor house.
These cost me less than $20 to make.

A couple other guys on the board have done this too. Cheap and sexy:

your better off makeing some like alan a lot cheaper and as for the projection lights that darkside had on there web site i dont even think they ever sold n-e but i could be wrong!
Actually I e-mailed them a while back because I wanted to put HID's, but they said they were all sold out and then I recently found out, from bBist in another thread, that the chrome ones are starting to be discontinued so if you find'em, buy'em. I heard there were bulb fitting problems with the projectors as well so people had to make the hole bigger, thus introducing moisture into the housing.

Those look pretty good. One of the reasons we didn't go that route is I thought it would cut down on the light being reflected from the headlight. Did something similar with the old Focus and it cut down on much of the light hitting the road. Did this have any impact on the functionality of the lights?
the portions bBist has painted there aren't part of the actual reflector - so light output being diminished is minimal -- now, paint the back parabolic portion and you may as well not even bother turning on the lights at nighttime 'cuase it wouldn't be any better than trying to drive with just the parking lights on.
