Default Hello again Toaster peeps

Heya folks, getting a new account on here (old one an ex-ex-ex still tries to stalk from time to time) since it seems my wee '05 box will be staying in my garage for many more years, figured I should get back on here and start doing some work on it.

Bought my '05 new around the end of that model year and got a free 6-disc CD upgrade (and that end of the year 'discount' of a free DV camcorder) and have been beating the snot out of the wee box for many many years. It was handed over to my wife as her main vehicle, and as of late has been discussed if we should ditch the box or not. Can't bear to get rid of it.

Even with the horrid aerodynamics, the back window getting covered by dirt even with a 10 min rain squall, the RPM sitting at 4k when cruising at 70 and screaming for a 6th gear, the horrible jack points, the low lip keeping it from going on the ramps I have... *shrug* why are we keeping this car? oh right, they made v2 ugly, and the box is still unique no matter what a bunch of rapping rodents say.

So yep, back, and planning to start tweaking and playing with the box again, so HI SL!

Unfortunately no new pics, I'll have to dig up the original photos from my other machine, had a couple from the dealership. I snuck in and snapped a few pics when it was delivered, bumper trim not even installed yet, and the Odometer with like 1 mile on it.

Photos now would be sad. Front emblem snapped off, the driver side trim is all warped from a ditch she ran into (not a well maintained house) just overall sad times.

I know what you're saying. I haven't been on here in a long time either.

Bought my '05 box 12/04, just hit 150,000 miles this week. Monday I have a date with the repair shop for a new used tranny and clutch. Decided I couldn't get rid of it yet. I'm thinking another 3-4 years?

I might even drive down to JAX for Exposed 8. Haven't been to a Scion event in 2+ years!

Thanks for the welcomes folks, just got done with the 90k on the box, a local shop was trying to charge $1300, but I know a tech at the local Toyota dealership who does side jobs (parts at his employee cost) and got the work done for $700 which was sweet.

My wife and I are in a transition/move so most of my tools and equipment are not available to me, which kills me to no end. Thankfully the report is good, the box is healthy, some new plugs (grabbed the iridium Prius ones), fluid changes, AEM filter washed, drive belt, front brakes w/machines rotors, rear brake adjustment, and overall in good mechanical shape. It was good enough that I got an offer to sell but alas...not yet (if ever).

I'll get a few pics, IF I can wash the salt off the car....stupid snow.

I keep thinking of what I might want to do, since the car has been stock for 5 years... intake is good, no muffler, maybe start with wheels. hrmn...

Welcome back man I just returned as well!!! I missed my box so much I bought another one last week. You got 90K miles and I bet she's still purring like a baby kitten

And yes please post up those pics of any new upgrades you get done. Hell, you said this is a new account, so post up what it looks like now. This way your new garage has some images and we all get some eye candy ;P

I think mother nature is stacked against my getting any photos. This morning the box was covered by a nice thick layer of ice... yay. Still ran like a champ (that tune up at 90k did wonders) but the rear door where the ice scraper was...stupid weather stripping got ripped off trying to open the door.

Seems this box is just destined for beater-ville.

Quick pic during lunch, yay for road salt
