Default Help!! Changing struts and CV joint Popped out!

Hope I'm OK, but I was changing Struts and the Strut would just not come out (only one side of the car is raised and I can't get to the other. I think this is the culprit) So I pushed down on the rotor and BAM the cV joint popped out (I **** my pants theoretically, I think) I worked frantically to put it back in as the Inside boot seemed really stretched

Finally it popped back in. No tears. I will leave it over night to see if it leaks, but do you guys think I'm ok?

Now My prob is having enough space to put the new strut in since I cant get to the other side to raise it.

This is not my first install and this is the first time this happened

Any suggestions?

You'll be fine. I've had the same thing happen a couple times myself. Just pop it back in and your good to go.

yeah should be fine. that thing is not likely to break easily if the boot is just stretched by its own weight. but you should notice it easily if its broken

inst there a clip or something that holds it in place at the tranny.

There just seems to be alot of play in it now.

I did feel it go back into place though but if I grab the rotor and move it forward towards the front bumper, it feels like it just might come out again (dont want to try it though)

can I safely drive like this then?

which axle did you drop? only the driver's side axle has that clip inside.. just make sure you bolt everything back and it should be snug

I got one side done and now the wheel lock key stripped so I have to wait for another one tmrw.

On the side that I did get done I get this intermittent screech on then off then on then off

would this have anthing to do with the cv joint that was popped out?
