I need to remove the governor off a 2006 scion xb

i have had my box well over 120 with 5 people in there...

 

I max at 121 (123 once) with my 06.. no limiter

 

Even if there was one... what possible reason could you have to remove it?

 

Every single one of his posts is: 'I wanna go faster.'
So yea... but from everything I read, the box is drag-limited at about 127.

BONE STOCK I had my car to 120ish.. a few times.

Seriously though.. why go faster? I now drive a VM R32... I've only gone 125 in that.. don't see the need to go faster, plus in an xB it isn't exactly the most stable thing at high speeds.

 

These engines only have a rev-limiter me thinks.
you will have to re-chip the electronics to defeat that.

Do you want to actually go faster, or accelerate quicker? 2 very different things...

 

Of course there's a governor! It's in the dash console, under the radio, to the right. You can pop it out if you push in the little metal tab. Side note: it doubles as an ashtray, so look for that. Should fix it right up! Careful, though, once the governor's gone its likes to rev right up to 200 MPH, so watch out for that.

There's SO MUCH wrong with this thread, it's scary.

a) You really think a GOVERNOR is the reason your 4-cyl subcompact economy car won't go more than 120 miles an hour?
b) Why on EARTH would you need to do so in the first place?
c) If you DO have a reason to do so, why would you purchase an xB?

Just curious. I need a little more information to notify the state troopers in your area to watch out for a big square box going 145 miles an hour

Actually, my box is as stable @ 100 as it is @ 65. Go figure.

 

Daym, after all this time and money spent. on motor mods. I could have left the box stock and just turned off the dang governor.
If it were only so simple???
