Hmmm. My box has been on the top ten top rated gallery for over 6 months. By last week it had accrued nearly 70 ..5 ratings and like 11 ...1 ratings. All of the sudden over the last week it has accrued now 28...1's and has dropped out of the top ten. This is more votes than it has received in the last 3 months...good or bad. This is also happening to many of the other long time top rated xB's on the list. Really kinda silly to pump negative votes on others cars from your rotating IP to keep yours on top....BTW....the mods correct these totals from time to time so enjoy your short time at the top of the heap.

The xB's that filter to the top of that list are some of the best around....look closely at their profiles and their additional pics. Virtually none of the cars in the top 15-20 on the gallery should really rate any ones at all. The gallery is an excellent place to get ideas and see what others have done with their rides. I visit it often and rate the cars there fairly. I give no 1's unless the car is stock or badly done (or the guy is an obvious crank or poser...power mods="my farts" for example).

I am not as annoyed by the fact that my ride has dropped out of the top ten as I am by the current flagrant abuse of the rating system. I expect some will slam me for this post...Have at it.

Last time I saw anything like that it was a 'club' systematically voting club members "5" and anyone else a "1"...

Sadly, that sort of idiocy is common in 'popularity contests' like that.

I'll ask an Admin to see if the log gives any hints.

Yeah Tomas I have seen corrections before when this junk goes on. I am sure they will correct it somewhat sooner or later. I wouldn't even post about it but this time over the last week has been so fiercely obvious.

Ted, you are dealing with what I had dealt with and now choose not to deal with anymore. Now most of the tC owners are trying to keep the first page ALL tCs. Vote the xB/xAs 1 and 5 for the tCs. I vote 5's for ya everytime I visit the registry.
It's sad that people can't let the votes fall like they should.

That's why I just disable the rating for my car.

 

Yeah, I keep mine disabled, too. No point in having a car rated on the fact the owner is a mod... Trust me, every time the mod does something modlike, someone won't like it, and the car gets slammed.

 

I fixed that problem! i just put up a stupid pic of me in a small kiddie ride at walmart lol so people can vote away ! lol hahahaha

This guy right here was one on the reasons I pulled my pic out of the running. He was one of the sources for all my number 1s. PM me for details why. It kept messing up my real votes so I pulled the pic. Bighungry dude YOU so Funny!!!!

I'll run the vote cleanup script... that will slow the site for a few minutes (nothing we aren't used to anyway) but should get rid of bogus votes.

 

That works for me but it can't keep up with the amount of bogus voting going on.

 

yup. I noticed for a week straight I "changed" my profile pic (kept re-uploading the same pic to get the votes zeroed) and everytime there were always 4 votes on 1s and nothing else. Obviously it's from the same people.

Oh well :D
