I rated it an 8 only because the lack of power. If it were me. The xB would win over the honda anyday.

Default Element vs Scion xB

We have both an Element and an xB- there is no way an xB compares to an Element and it shouldn't. The Honda is roomier, quicker and comes with an armrest!! I love my xB, but I got it because of the price. The Element costs more but it's well worth it. The xB does get better gas mileage and that's another reason to get it.

I could not vote. Your numbers don't go high enough.
I need at least a ten, but I could go into triple digits.

I have to agree that accords are kinda boring family cars. Id have to say xB but then again, i am biased. They aren't the quickest vehicle but, think of how much you will save on speeding tickets!!

35 MPG in comfort on 600 mile trip this weekend with a 3 year old. The xB proved it's worth in fuel economy, space and comfort. To me, it belies it's low price tag. I rated it a 9.

I rated mine 8 because of the lack of power. But this is like asking people at a candy convention if they like candy. Do you reall think you'll get many negative votes on a xB forum?

Overall, there are some negatives, but there are way many positives with an xB.

Consumer Reports gave it very good review (that was one of the reasons I even considered it in the first place).

The xB is simply an awesome car. Let's rundown it's good points.

1. It can look very cool and even upscale with just some rims eventhough the car is dirt cheap.
2. It has more space than even most SUV's but yet it get's easily over 30mpg.
3. It is dependable. No problems with mine and I've had it since 2003.
4. Versatile. When you fold down all the seats you can haul all kinds of crazy wierd sized objects. I've hauled 12ft moulding, lawn mower, bikes, large trees, you name it.
5. Value value value. Nothing even comes close to the xB for this price.
6. MODS. You can mod the crap out of this car. The options are almost infinite.
7. You get the idea.

I voted a 9, because there was no 10... Mine has the power and all the other good stuff that comes with owning an xB... Buy a Scion and help take over the world.

Advantages over an Element:

-Price
-Gas Mileage
-Easier to transport people
-Rear windows that aren't stationary

It's quite easy to add an armrest to an xB, hell you can do it through the dealer if you really want to.

Overall I'm satisfied with my xB. I reported a MPG problem in another thread a while back - I get about 22-24 mpg in town. Sounds like a mechanical problem - but it's not. Turns out I live at the bottom of alot of hills :-/

So ya - lack of power kills this thing. If you live somewhere FLAT or relatively flat, go get one. I like the styling enough to keep mine, but truly wish it could cope with going up large hills without downshifting once, twice, or even 3 times.

Like I said - this is an xB specific forum - you will not get many negative (or even under 5) votes. This is a very skewed and biased poll. :D

Then get a stick. I get, on average, 28 mpg while towing a trailer -- and I live in a place with mountains. Without the trailer I get 30mph, in city or highway. Of course, when I drive like a maniac, the mileage does suffer.

I have yet to experience the lack of power that so many people here complain about. Maybe I have a lemon...
