I checked out the TMV at edmunds.com... it appraised at $11,500. Do you think I can get this car lower?
How much did you pay for yours recently?
Thanks a lot!

Anyways, albertson3, how much do you think I can pick up that great car for?
Considering:
Cash buy,
No Trade in
The problem for you is that the xB has great resale value. It's great if you already own one but sucks if you want to buy a used one.
I think the one posted is a little on the high side. Probably about $2,000-$2,500 higher than what it should be. Most used 2006 and 2006.5 that are manual are going for what they are selling that 2004 for.

Well, just for reference, I got my PW 06 auto with 33k miles on it from the dealership for around $11,500. Mine also has all the options, the CF window appliqués, OBX petals, fogs, spoiler, ect.
I was able to talk them down about $2k, its just all in the way you get them talked down. Be persistent and assertive and chances are they'll budge a little bit.

... but did you trade in your old vehicle or financed with the dealer?
sounds like hes serious
the issue is alot of non scion dealers don't understand that 90% of what they are listing as options, like power everything, aren't options on the scions, so they jack up the price to whatever their dealership sells a comperably equipped vehicle for, I saw an 04, with all the options minus sub, and missing the lower grills, and lower front lip, with 18's on it, this was a year ago, they wanted 18k for it, oh and it has over 40k on the clock

Bought my '04 two yrs ago with just over 15k on the odo for $12,000 from a private party seller. It already had TRD shocks and springs and a Progress tech rear swaybar installed. My advice would be to check private party sales before you go the dealer route. Dealers have to make money first and formost, so they will always charge more for a used vehicle. Oh yeah, If you can do it, pay cash! Sellers have a way of softening up if you wave a wad o' cash or a blank check in their faces. Good Luck!
thanks for all the replies...
I have financing lined up with my bank and a couple thousands of dollars on hand.
11K would seem reasonable at the dealer.
I wish I had all cash on hand so that I could go private seller... my experience with private sellers has not always been too good though, they usually think that listed dealer prices is what they can get for it: the truth is that I have seen xb listed at 16K and they would go down to 13K with no effort whatsoever.
Well, anyways, I think it is time I go buy my car. I have thought about this box for WAY too long (almost a year now!)

If you could get that for 11K I'd say jump on it. I don't see prices going anywhere but up for awhile considering all the xBs that are ending up in the junk pile.

Camos here in TN are not that hard to come by. I know a dealer in Memphis that has 2 of them sitting on the used side of the lot. Been there most of the summer too. The color was kinda strange.
We just got an 06 BOP automatic w/ 30 K. Maybe not the best deal around, but it was priced at $16,200 (dream on) . They went down to $14,400 and they gave us another $750 over book out of my wife's Accord.
