I came out from lunch today and this was parked next to me:

Never seen one before it's a Dodge Sprinter.

they are all over florida running the benz badges, our boxes will fit in the back of one, also that one is an RV, I'd love to get one in RV settings, but those things are like 60k base price

Alot of expediter use them for my line of work. I really like the short ones with on windows and the short roof.
It's funny seeing the Freightliner/Dodge ones running the Benz emblems tho. Kinda GDM if ya ask me. LOL

Those things seem so incredibly top-heavy... really tall and narrow.

They can get tall but they are wider than an Econoline. Plus they are big bucks. I'll stick with my regular cargo vans thankyou very much!

I like the Sprinter. Probably better than the POS Ford Econoline.

I work for UPS these are total crap. Dodge sells them as Sprinters. The motor is a inline 5 turbo diesel mercedes. Once they got over 100,000 they fall apart. Not much room compared to the regular package cars, kinda useless.

You would think that but it's just not the case. First off they are almost double the price. They've had overheating problems and other issues you just woyldn't expect with a pricey vehicle. I love my Econolines cause I know them inside and out and they are easy to maintain. I always get 500K miles out of them without too much drama. The one I got now has 340,000 and still going strong. Original engine and trans.

That's strange to hear because I have heard (heard from guys at work, mind you, I do not know), that the Benz engine was fairly bullet proof and lasted well into the 300K range, plus they were getting in the mid 20's for gas mileage, whereas the Econoline was only getting in the low teens and had Ford's typical poor quality build.

Actually the Econoline Diesels are also getting in the low to mid 20 MPGs Heck, even my 5.4 gas engine still gets 15 mpg while fully loaded with upwards of 3K lbs of cargo.
At least with the Fords being only half as much new... You get what you payed for. Anytime I can get 500,000 miles from a vehicle (and do only regular maintenance) I know I got my moneys worth.
