Default I am going to be a Scion convert

I have came to the decision that I want to get a xB. I currently have a 2002 Hyundai Elantra GLS. The whole xB design fascinates me and I love the looks on peoples faces when one of these fly by. I'm looking for some ideas which could help me when wanting to mod my soon to be xB. Maybe you guys can help me out.

Welcome, check out the midatlantic forum. Younger in Hagerstown has had some good events in the past. That would be the best thing, I think: come check out some other people's cars in person to get an idea of what you'd like to do to yours. Any idea when you're getting your xB?

Not exactly sure.....right now I am broke as a joke. I graduate from college in September and I think that's when I am going to make the decision finalized. Right now money is tight and I need to focus on my studies more than anything. My friends think I'm crazy for wanting an xB, but in reality it's all about representing who I am and what I really want.

Back when I got my xA in December, my wife was with me at the Scion dealership. She was standing over by the xBs just shaking her head. All she kept saying was, "Man those things are ugly. Who in the world would drive one of those, and why?" A few months ago (just for fun) she had a chance to sit in one. She now owns a yellow RS 2.0 and loves it. People come around.

Exactly! I tell people to check them out before they go knocking it. For one they (xB) get great gas mileage and they have tremendous head room. Two, this is the best way to be different. Everyone has a Honda Civic.....they need to step aside and let Scion show people what modifications are all about.

You got it. To me, the most impressive thing about the xB, is the leg room! I can't freakin' believe the amount of rear-seat leg room it has. It's more than most full size cars. Plus, like you said, good gas milage and Toyota reliability.

I thought the same thing when I first seen one. When I brought my Xb home from the dealer for the first time, my 8 year old daughter asked me if the dealer didn’t have any other cars besides the Xb. She wouldn’t tell me that the car was ugly, but her facial expression said it all. I told her that it’s O.K. to think it funny looking. I thought it was funny looking too but now we both love it 

That's what UBOW stands for, Ugly Box On Wheels! But when I first came up with that was over ten years ago when Mitsubishi sold their gawdawful minivan. That, is the quinessential ubow! I call my RS 2 that as a term of endearment.

I was back home for Memorial day with my family. We drove by an Xb that looked just like mine, and my Dad was like "That's the ugliest thing I've ever seen. It looks like a shoe box on wheels".

I had not told him that I sold my civic and bought an Xb... still haven't told him. What ever, he drives a Suburban. I get to laugh when he spends $80 filling his gas tank.

I've been hooked on xb for about nine months. I wasn't always this way but one day my son-in-law drove his TCM xb into our lives. I thought it was a disgrace, he traded a Chevy pick-up in for that thing? I thought
Now, we're a family of xb addicts 4=1 BSP, 1 RS2, 1 Polar white & 1 TCM.
By the way, we got rid of a Custom full size chevy van, a firebire and soon to go k5 blazer, and I'm happy to say good bye.
