i need help with xm radio installation
This is what I have so far....
I bought the XM radio harness from the dealership.
And, I have the universal tuner box for xm ready stereos.
And, here's the problem. Nothing fits!!! The harness does not fit into the tuner box. And, I even tried to find a harness from other places other than the dealership. I am about to give up on haveing XM radio. So, any help on this would be greatly greatly appreciated.

let me get this straight, you have the "factory" xm harness that supposed to plug into your radio and the xm tuner box and you have the "factory" xm tuner box. right? or is the tuner box one that you can get from like Circuit City/Best Buy?
by the way, how much did you pay for all of it?

There is no "universal" tuner box for xm that will work with the scion factory radio.
If you got just the harness from the dealer and it won't fit the factory radio then someone doesn't know the correct part. I'm not sure here but I sorta doubt the dealer would even have "just" the tuner cable unless he took it from an xm kit.

first off the factory harness will only work with the "factory" xm tuner. the xm box you got at Circuit City is to be used with aftermarket xm ready radios like sony, pioneer, ect... but you still have to by an adapter cable for the tuner box to work with those radios. my advice is return the factory harness to the dealer if they will let you return it. return the tuner box and get a plug-n-play model like the "Roady2" or the "SkyFi". they sell for around $100-$130.
on a personal note, I like Sirius better. I had xm since they came out and I switched to Sirius. I like the programming better. to each their own.

The harness plugs into the back of the stock HU it just doesn't plug into the tuner box I have. And the dealerships do sell just the harness and they also sell the whole kit. But it is like $250 for the whole kit. I guess I will just have to take the harness back and try it a different way. Thanks for the link. It did help me out. Thanks for the help everyone.
