Check with your insurance policy first. Alot of people don't even know that they have full comprehensive. If you do have it, your new windshield will be free with no deductable.

be careful....had to replace my front windshield and the guy that did it brought a rubber seal for a corolla and thought that it would work and then they messed up the wipers....he took them off and put them on backwards....took me a month to convince my husband that there was something wrong with it...make sure whoever does the windshield has done a xb before

Yea I have 2 stone chips so far as soon as it happens I take a small drill bit to it then apply crazy glue to seal it up so it dont spread.
I have heard even on a small crack take a drill to the end of the crack will stop it from running any farther.

I'm on my 3rd winshield and I've had my box since Thanksgiving of '04. They salt the roads pretty badly here in the winter and I have a 70+ mile commute each way for work back then. The salt kick-up from some semis broke my winshield twice, the second time it leaving an inch-long paint gash on my hood. But insurance took care of the winshield and a good friend took care of my hood for me.
