Default ILLUMINATION cold cathcode vs neon vs LED

I have see all kinds of interior lighting at different prices and I am wondering what is the best to get. I have an xB that I want to get "under the dash" lighting (preferribly in amber). What do you think is best between what seems to be 3 different types of lighting?

In addition, I recently saw some LED lighting that will change color and flash in sequence with your music, has anyone seen this and does it look cool or lame?

Thanks!

I'd like to get the interior lighting as an option also but it's hard for me to pay $290 for a light. I might op for the much less expensive neons from my local store.

You want a lighting kit?

Go here:

www.randode.com

It's the only one you'll need.

thanks jason.
Thats right, i build the cold cathode lighting kit. Its super bright, easy to install, and pretty cheap ($100). The kit includes 4 lights, wiring harness, a swith that pops right into the dashboard, and instructions. I have them in red, blue, green, white, and black light. They dont make an amber cathode, but it is possible to use the clear cathodes, and put a piece of "lighting gel" over it to make any color you want.

I highly recommend you purchase the cold cathode lighting kit from Randode Racing. Brighter than what they offer at the dealership, and also a bargain. I'm very satisfied with the kit! Thanks, Randy!

The Randode Racing lighting kit is totally the way to go, and it's not just cause I am the wife! They are so bright, we replaced his kit in my silver xB with the dumb factory one. The wiring was crap, it's just too bad we got bent over for the $280 or what ever it was and changed it anyways. Let us be a lesson to everyone else...
Just buy RANDODE RACING lighting kits!!! The dealer ones STINK!!
Randy's are way brighter too!

I am a cold cathode fan... I used to do a lot of computer case modifications and I always used cold cathodes. They produce much more light than neons. Also, they are cheap. You can get cold cathode "bulbs" for like 5-8 bucks. The inverters are cheap too. Randode's kit is pretty good for the price. I'd pay the 100 bucks for it. It comes with all that is needed. I'm not sure how many inverters are used, but 100 bucks is pretty good if you don't want to solder yourself...

Default Randode's Cold Cathcode lighting

Well, sounds like Randode's is the way to go! Quick question, does anyone in So. Cal do the installations or do you need to do it your self? I would probably shock myself to death doing the wiring.

Thanks,

Ken

I'm a big fan of LED lighting and Cold Cathode. Neon is slowly fading out as technology betters. The LED is better than Cold Cathode in that you can hide it where the C.C. wouldn't fit (ie door handles). C.C. is good for general lighting, such as under-dash.

Undercar, it's gotta be LED.

my kit is plug and play, no wiring skills needed. just taps onto one existing wire and one ground screw. very easy. Detailed instructions included. I can do the install for like $20 if you still dont want to try it.
