Default I'm ebay famous...

EAmon brought this to my attention and I thought it might liven this place up...

Apparently a pic of my xB was lifted from my FLickr and is being used by these guys to sell "2003-2007 Scion xB Smoke Tinted JDM Fog Lights 04 05 06." Apparently they are also selling these for a model year that doesn't exist; pretty shnazzy.

I don't know if I am flattered or annoyed but I don't like my pics being used without my consent. I'm pretty p***ed they destroyed the quality.

What should I do? I was thinking of asking for a portion of their sales or they are going to take it down.

Here is the original photo from my Flickr:

Dumbest part, those aren't even fog lights on my box.

Tell them to give you a portion of the sales or you're reporting them to ebay! lol

but seriously..I would try reporting them..not only are they using your picture but it isn't even a pic of the right product.

Use the report auction link and then in the notes link back to your flickr account.

Wow...That is not cool. I would be very annoyed with that and would take em down. Email them and let them know you want something in return or take the pics down. Tell them you ok with them using it if they asked you first and gave you royalties of some sort. If no response then report it to ebay. They will take care of it. Ebay is good for these kind of things. They really don't take stuff like this lightly. At least if you tried your pic would be taken down I'm sure. But that is just crazy that they stole a picture of your box and used it to sell their product. And its not of the same product either....jeez. Real smart on their part.

Emailing the seller to do anything about it will usually result in jack ____. Most of them plain don't care. Now sometimes you'll get one that is actually a human being and apologize and take them down - but it's rare. That's why I suggested just going through eBay. They'll pull the auctions.

This has happened quite a bit here with various people's cars.

"Dumbest part, those aren't even fog lights on my box. "

Now that is Funny!!!!

maybe you could get them to send you some fogs for free?

I guess I'd be irritated..then perhaps honored that they used my box..
and yes..it could not hurt to ask them for something

Uh, that's why i haven't signed up for flickr, or clicked it open for public access/views.
I mean, really, what do you expect?
They did a image search and found your car, approximately the image they were looking for?
Whats the problem?
(do you want them the ebay seller to go buy a Scion Xb just to put the lights on and snap a picture to sell?)
ANYWAYS,
Good find, and thanks really a good find. But deal with it, and get over it.
Nice Post, really think its cool tho,!!

Send a message to the bay... link the flicker account and this thread. Auctions should be pulled based on the fact the box doesn't even have fog lights. After you have reported the auctions, send a message to whoever the guy is stating you've reported him for using an image of your box without prior request and then point out there are no fog lights on it.

I'm trying to report it but I am only allowed 100 characters to describe. I can't even post my flickr link then.

See, that's where you're way off. I have my pics loaded to flickr and I have all the rights reserved. Which means any use of that picture without my consent is stolen intellectual property. Especially using my photos to profit. If you read the purpose of flickr, it is meant to share work visually, not allow others to profit from a person's work.

They had to have an xB to make those fog lights, fit them and mold them. So where is that xB? If they are a legitimate business, stealing photos of xB's with the wrong product wouldn't be necessary.

Okay, just talked with ebay. I need to print and fill out a paper about the whole stolen intellectual property thing then fax it to ebay. I'm going to do that.

I don't want ____ty ebay fogs on my box. I'd take money and the picture being revoked though.
