Default It's IN! but price???

Welllll... my "automatic bcp xb" is finally in. I drove by the dealer this morning and it's in the parking lot... with MY name on it. It just got delivered lastnight. Still has the plastic on it. Man, how am I going to make it until next week when they will give it to me??!! (Ahhhh, but I got to touch it and look in the windows!)

However with all my excitement... I noticed in the show room, the price didn't "seem" the same compared to the Scion website. I admit it might just be my brain... but it seems more expensive. Does anyone know if the prices on the website are for 2006 xB's or not? It doesn't mention what year the prices are for? (My salesman is off today.)

Does anyone know how much the price changed between 2005-2006? (I'm worried I won't be able to afford it.)

Umm - no. You go to the dealer with your little Scion "I built this car myself" paper (worthless btw) and they write up a sales order with your options, tax, tag, etc... the bottom line is what you pay. Some dealers charge add-ons, others don't. I had an almost $900 dollar diff. from the first dealer I went to until I settled on the third dealer that charged no add-ons. It doesn't sound like you've done your homework. I liked how in your previous post it said "they put my name on it" and "they're going to give it to me"... LOL - a) unless you signed a contract or left a deposit "run away!" There are always more cars and better deals... b) believe me, they're not "giving" you anything - you pay for everything you get! My dealership Stadium Toyota had the car filled up when I picked it up (no charge), when I return to have my spoiler put on; another full tank "and" a loaner for the day while it's being serviced "plus" free tires for life... Ignorance will cost you money...

Ps - plus I got a Premium Membership for buying from Stadium Toyota with Scion Life and some wicked cool SL swag...

But you have a itemized piece of paper that shows what you owe - "that's" what counts! Not that worthless internet printout...

I used to live in Tampa (before there was a North Port), down off Westshore in Palma Ceia - Beach Park... Hadn't been there in a year or two, until I picked up the xB - man, things really change fast around there!

What do you mean before there was a North Port? I just moved to this city/town (which is like 1.5hr south from Tampa). Used to live out in Riverview, worked and went to school in Tampa. Were you at any of the SD meets? I went to a couple with my echo at the Sonic's on Hills.

a lot of em will tack on a "documentation fee" Tell them to blow it our their butt, you won't pay it. Don't pay anything that's not on the web site. Cost plus destination (bs anyway) plus tax and tags. say no to all else!

Well rebelMan, if your profile has your correct age - I have a daughter that's two years older than you (eek!)... I went to Dale Mabry Elementry/Coleman Junior High/HB Plant HS/CFCC and then USF... never been to any SD meets, I don't need any age reminders... lol

You guys when you shop, try more than one dealership - mine was fee free... with a couple of added perks...

Ok, so don't laugh... I know that no one is giving me anything. I'm going to be paying for a long time on this car. However, I am new at this. So what you guys are saying is that the dealer may be trying to charge me MORE fees than the ones listed on the website ($500 something) and I don't have to pay anything other that the ones listed on the website? Soooooo, if that's possible... how do you pull that off? I want my car and I don't want to have to haggle for it or wait for another dealer to order another one. I thought that's why it was this "special" type of pricing. No haggling... you pay what the car costs.

Here's my story...I went in last Fri. Looked at an '05 wanted the new radio, new hubs(i'm a loser) and keyless entry. So the salesman checked his inventory and had a Vin# for a 2006 coming in. I put down $500 added keyless entry to the list got the yellow invoice with the Vin# and the final cost, signed it and went home. Price of the unit b/4 add on, lic., tax & doc. fee was $15,195.00(includes dest. fee of $515). I doubled checked with the web site & Edmonds.com and it was $100 more than the 2005(msrp). I received a call today the car is in and will be ready to roll Tuesday AM. Over all I don't feel ripped off and everything I was told was up front and I double check the figures. I can't control the taxes & fees those are a fact of life but for a grand total of $16,988.34 I feel i'm getting a quality car that will last awhile.

i tried to put down 500$ and those b1tchs made me throw down 1500$!!! WTF!!! When it comes in i'm going in with the rest cash (LoC loan), that sucks .

My deliv fee is 229$, after traden in total i owe is 11,838$ (w/o the 1500 depo taken out, HAS tax included, only option added was the spoiler). IMO totally worth it! I'm glad to pay 190$ per month for it :D

Well there you go - dealerships love people like that - I want "my car" and I want it "now" ... If you don't want to make the extra effort or do the research, then you have no room to complain that your paying too much. What's worse is you have the information and refuse to do anything about it. You're not negotiating the price of the car - it's the add-on dealer fees. Your choice, your money.

Ok, well, I didn't know that "research" could be done. It's kinda hard to look for answers when you don't know the questions. I've never bought a car before. I don't think I'm being selfish, I'm practically without wheels, at least safe ones, and I've got kids to ferry around. (My mechanic told me not to drive my car.) I put money on the xB and yes, I look at it as mine, I didn't realize I shouldn't. My origional comment wasn't a complaint as much as a statement of concern on whether I would be able to still afford the car or not.

However, thanks for the information guys. Your all a lot smarter than I am.

it's a scam they play. you have to have ALL service done there. So, you pay for those tires many, many times

Lunch Lady, I hope you're not getting an xB and paying extra for keyless entry.. it come std. The scion security (weak, easily bypassed alarm) is extra, and it was my first impression (that the dealer didn't come clean about) that that was the way to get keyless entry.. but it's std on an xB.

mamagoose. Just take a look.. if there's anything that's not Delivery (should match the website), cost of car, tax, title, and tags (ie documentation fees, service charge, "ADP" or some other acronym.. tell them you won't pay it. But you have to be willing to walk away.. they won't let you though.
