Default ::JDM OEM vs. US OEM:::

Riddle me this batman...ok so i was surfing my second favorite website today (ebay) and came across a JDM bB OEM TOYOTA spoiler and bought it...my question is...is it the same as the spoiler that i can get from scion, or is the japanese spoiler and the US spoiler different in some way...does anyone know...

that, my friend, is US OEM.

anyhow, scrawled on the underside is 068, which is the paint code for polar white. I can't say for SURE, but I do not remember that being one of the colors that the bB was available in.

if you look at the description, i get instructions in japanese...hope there are alot of pictures...maybe jdm and oem are the same when it comes to xB and bB spoilers...im still calling it JDM...it just makes it sound cooler...like i am in some special club or something...the guy has a bB front lip...i thought about it for a second but i like the way my front end looks, the "stock" look...its nice

you are going to see alot of dealers unloding the leftover stuff from the 1st gen xb. so every thing the the dealer offeres is starting to get cheeper. thats how i got my tail lights $185 shipped.

Thanks man!

anyhow, I have the same spoiler, and chose not to drill the hatch. I ground off the nubs and mounted it with 3m tape. still strong after a year.

I think you need to take off the 'aerodynamics are overrated' if you're going to rock the fab wing

CHERRYBOX : "I think you need to take off the 'aerodynamics are overrated' if you're going to rock the fab wing"

yah i guess it would make some people scratch thare head wouldn't it.
but i love the sticker, its the rebellious spirit of the box, the anti authority fist shaking nature. i can't help it. but i do see your point.

im realy torn about drilling the holes. i don't ever want to be driving alont and see people swering in my rearview mirror to miss my wing in the middle of the road.
can i get it in sheets instead of strips.

I kid, I kid... you can have whatever you want on your box. I'm teasing you.

anyhow the tape does come in wide rolls, but i don't know about sheets. I'm sure it does, but probably not available for consumer apps.

there's a lot more mounting surface area (contact) and much less drag with that wing (versus the oem) - i'd say you shouldn't have ANY problem if you prep the surface properly.
