Default K&N Typhoon CAI / Check engine issues

I am having some check engine issues after installation of the K&N Typhoon Cool AIr Intake. I also opened up the exhaust. Toyota no help. Any one point me in the right direction???

VSC, Track Off and "Check Eng" These Three lights come on. The car seems to run fine through all of this. There have been times where car has run for up to four days without the error / lights coming on, then they return. I have seen it clear itself three times in the last three weeks. Very strange, it is like the CPU can't adjust to the new range, via the open / Typhoon intake and I removed the factory resinator + muffler and ran straight 2.5" pipe to a series 4 Flow Master (with an added resinating chrome tip to help tune it)

I assume he's getting "track off" "vsc" and "CEL". Seems everyone has been having problem with this specific CAI.
