Default Light replacement

really simple problem, quick answer

You guys know the little 'e-z bake oven' in the center console where you put eyeglasses and CDs and stuff? I've been trying to replace the light bulb fixture in there because the soft orange light is sorta annoying to me

Its got these two little tabs which I asssume I should be pushing in to pop the entire lid off. but it wont come off. I dont want to push any harder because it feels like I'm going to break something. Am I doing something incorrectly?

I'm sorry if this is actually discussed in the owner manual, I havent got one, the dealer said they'd call me when a new shipment of xA manuals came in

Thanks for any help

in order to change the lights in the oven you need to remove the two silver pillars along the center console, unscrew the 4 screws holding the oven in place, remove the oven, unplug the power from the top of the box, and change the lightbulb from there. the size is 194 and for about $2 you can get amber, blue, red, or green (havent seen other colors...) also, if you want the oven illuminated at night, here is where you can hook up power from another source and put a switch on it...or do like i did and wire an LED from the cigarette lighter and stuck it into one of the little holes on the top of the box into the dome for the lights... now when i open my doors the light is blue, and when im driving and its dark the box changes 7 different colors.

sounds great, just one question. How do I remove the silver pillars? do they just pop right off?

the silver pillars pop off really easily; if you look at the base of them, theres a small gap, using a screwdriver (or even a long fingernail) you should be able to work into that gap and then just pull right off.
