local Toyota dealer never heard of RS3.0 xB
I go in town today to order a 06 xB RS 3.0 and the salesman that handles the Scions never heard of them. He said that must be a "modified version". I was like no sh@t!
The salesman "manager" I spoke to just a few days before that said they cant get them at all. I happen to know more about the vehicle then they did. I had already found 3 RS 3.0 in TX in about 10 mins and it took them half a day to find only two, one had $3k of additional options I didn't want and the other was on hold due to another customer that thinks he wants to buy it but never showed them any $$. This dealership must hire salesmen from the circus because they sure make me wonder. Looks like it will be a few more days till I get my green box but it'll be well worth it. Anyone know of some dealerships in the Houston and San Antonio area that I can check on?

Back in Feburary when i went to reserve mine, RIGHT AFTER they were announced, and the flyers were all over the dealer, i went in and told them i wanted to reserve mine, and i go "Im here to reserve my Release Series 3.0 xB". And all the salesmen looked at me like I had 10 heads... I laughed and walked out..

I do recall passing a couple dealerships located on I-10 in San Antonio and I-35 in Austin that had an RS3.0 each. It was the weekend of 5/20. They were easy to spot. Gotta love that color. Good luck on your search.
I do expediting and had to go to Laredo from Houston to pick up my load. Then take it to Memphis.

Well, I can't speak to their knowledge of the brand at the store you checked out, but I can say this. RS 3.0 xBs are really hard to find right now. Remember, just because one shows in a dealership's "New Vehicle Inventory" doesn't mean that it's available for sale. I have a sold one coming in right now that will show on our website. I have money down on it and everything, but final paperwork is not done until you take delivery of the vehicle. Therefore it may look like I have an RS 3.0 when I really don't.
This will be the 3rd one I have sold (including the one my wife bought from me
) and I had to buy it off of another dealer. I could order no more from the factory.
Just thought you should call before you drove to Texas.

My local Scion dealership is only about 15 minutes away from me. I may decide to get the black pearl they have if I have to wait too long. Oh well, either way I will enjoy having a box to play with.
Well first off, it's Corpus frickin Christi! No offense, but last time I checked, it was a rather back-woods coastal community, ....much like my present location....., and it has been a while, so maybe a few things have changed...but I digress. Anyway, if it's anything like some of the dealers I've dealt with in my local, it's very similar. I'm just lucky to work with a small town dealer with a big city attitude.
The problem you might be experiencing is that your local dealer may have burned a few bridges and they really can't get one, because nobody likes them and won't help them out. I don't know the real situation, but it is a plausible guess. They don't seem to have a clue how to do business in today's market place, and are just giving you the runaround.
I recommend going to Houston, SA, or Austin. Especially Austin, if for nothing else than to have a good time. Call them up, ask if they have what you want, if they have it, give them your CC# and then go get the thing. If not, keep calling.

Unless they have sold it, Capital Scion in Chattanooga, Tn had one thursday. It was an automatic. Don't know if it had any other options or not. Sticker said $17,600 if I remember right. Loved the green, but I think I will keep my Yellow Box. Unless someone wants to trade Green for Yellow. Talk to Jon Lancaster, one super cool Scion guy.
I called back the local Scion dealership and they said the other dealership never returned their call so they could not give me an answer. So I decided to call another dealership in San Antonio and reserved my RS3.0. As soon as it gets to them, they will be calling me and I will make a 150 mile trip up there to bring it home. Hopefully by this weekend I will have my Envy Green box to start modding it to my liking. First thing first will be to tint those windows 5% all around, I can't stand the bright sunlight. Then to strip down the interior for sound deading since I will be installing a grave shaker and a Viper security system in the box. I can't wait to get it, I'm sure I'll be the only one in this lame city with an Envy Green xB.
You think thats bad, the dude at my scion dealership tried to tell me that the RS3 has a bigger motor than all the other Xb's, i was like WTF are you talking about....after a few minutes of telling the old man that he didn't know his stuff and that he needed to go try selling scions at the honda dealership because he will have better luck there, i gave him the RS3 spec sheet that was at the DEALERSHIP, and proved him wrong....needless to say the people at my scion dealership should not be selling scions
There are some salesmen that needs to learn their product before they go saying anything about them. Oh well, I finally got my RS3.0 in today. I had to travel to San Antonio to get it but it was worth it. I told the dealer not to drill holes in the bumper but it arrived that way, wasn't Red McComb's fault. They tinted the box for free to make up for it. Now it's time to start adding the mods to it. So many things to do hard to decide what comes first.
congrats on the new ride. always go to a dealer that knows what they r talking about. some dealers think they r the only ones in town, and that may be true but there r always more towns.
if u do know what u r talking about, then u r the exception and not the rule. i was not trying to offend u. but it ticks me off when car dealers use pressure tactics and think that most people r morons and that if i dont buy today i may not be able to buy tomorrow. it doesnt matter that the salesman doesnt know what he's selling other than he gets a commission. the dealer i bought mine from (two days after the release on the east coast) was impressed that i knew more about the car than he did and he realized that i was not going to buy his car just because he had a slick pitch. i keep a relationship with my dealer but i push the scion brand and not the dealer. i dont care where u buy ur scion, JUST BUY ONE!
I am the only dealer in town, but I also know wtf I'm talking about too.
Not offended, I just wanted it stated for the record.
btw, not that I know everything, cuz that would be dumb. I just don't pretend to know then try to schmooze 'em over. I will admit when I'm clueless, and attempt to find the info. frankly, there's a lot of crappola out there to know, and a lot of it gets funneled to different locales at different time. Like those NE Atlantic cats seem to get info WAYYYYY before I do. SET (my region) keeps a stranglehold on it until the last minute.
