Default LOUD horns for your box!

This question has come up on several threads:

What kind of horns are there to replace the weak-sounding meepers that come with my xB?

So I'm offering a suggestion:

http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productlist/539

I put a set on my motorcycle and these suckers are LOUD, so when I got my xB, I naturally put a set on it, too.

To get the full effect, I recommend running a separate fused 14 or 12 ga wire from the battery plus post to the relay switch contact and then a 14 or 12 ga wire from the relay switch contact to the horn. Ground the horn to the chassis of your xB, run wires from the stock horns to the relay coil contacts and you're good to go! (A relay comes with the horns.)

I left the stock horns in 'cause the two sets together make a sound that pleases me.

holy crap... i love the description:

Stebel Nautilus Compact Dual-Tone 12-Volt Air Horn, 139 dB
Black dual-tone air horn from Stebel of Italy. Loud enough to convince other drivers that there's a derailed freight train barrelling down on them. Don't press the horn button in the garage, it hurts! At 139dB it can be heard for almost 3 city blocks! YEEEOOOWWW!

I would just like to update this old ___ thread with my own experience. I tried installing a Stebel compact air horn as described above and it would not work. I hooked it up exactly as instructions describe and used the included inline fuse and relay and nothing. I tested the horn and it was not the compressor. One last attempt and i hooked it directly to the center stock horn wire and it worked. These horns are rated at almost 20amps and i believe each stock horn is at 10 amps so if you don't use your stock horns you shouldn't need a relay or fuse. At least i didn't and i've been using the horn for a month. So far nothing bad has happened and the horn is loud as hell. I mounted it where the center horn mounts behind the crash support bar with a bracket made of flexi-steel. Would have taken 5min. total had i not tried to mess with the fuse and relay. I must say IMHO that this is the loudest best sounding horn ever. I like it much better than the Hella Supertones. Now when someone pulls out in front of me i make them pee a little.

LOLOL @ peeing!!! hahahahaha! I wanna hear this horn... i wonder if anyone here in the city (nyc) has it installed... my 2 sets of hella supertones are okay... im wondering how this thing sounds... and if it really is an awesome horn, i'll totally get 2 of them for my box.... ;-]]]] l0l0l0l

when i've had people cut me off (on purpose or not) and i honk, they yank their steering wheels back and go back to the lane they came from! l0l00l0l! i've had people on roads nearly stop and just open their windows to start screaming at me while i'm LOLing.

i once honked at some woman in the car in front of me - the light had turned green but she's sifting through her purse like everything was hunky dorey... so like 10-15 seconds later she moves (by this time, the light is about to turn red again), we both turned and we're next to eachother. she opens her window and says "would you quit it with that annoying horn!!!!!!?" and when the light turned green, and she pulled up, i held the horn again for a few seconds to convince her to never fu/ck up again. l00l0l0l.

people can be jerks- there are jerks everywhere. but when someone is a jerk and I am hassled by it, i won't let it just be.

What bracket did you use for these?
