Default Made a huge mistake last week... and it's gonna cost me.

I was out and about running errands with the xB. I drove past the BMW dealer and noticed they opened a MINI dealer right next door. I drove up to take a closer look as I always thought those cars looked cool.
So , I test drove a Mini Cooper S, the supercharged version with the 17" sport wheels. Was totally impressed! So impressed, I ordered one! I ordered a cooper S with sport package, Xenon lights, performance tires and lighter alloy wheels. I am not getting a sunroof because it adds too much weight on top... I am going to track this one and want the best performance... The thing is a street legal go-kart... handling is awesome!
They asked about the xB, if I wanted to trade it in.. I said NO!
I still love the box. Its a great city car thats fun to drive..
For grins, I will ask them what they will give me on a trade... but I already know it will be too low... besides... I really want to keep it... I might need it to carry some R-spec tires and wheels to the track... So beware of test drives...

One other thing... when I was ready to leave, I had 3 sales people come over and check out the Scion. I even had one of the customers there come over and sit in it. They all were amazed with the room and looks. I spent about 30 minutes giving everyone a tour of the xB at the BMW dealership...
Thought that was kind of interesting with all the BMW's everywhere.

I owned the Z06 for 1 year after owning a 99 vette for 5 years.
Time for a change. Also I could not fit in the Z06 with a helmet. I even changed out the headliner to an older one which had more room and it didnt help enough. So here I had this factory race car that I couldn't get on the track. On the street, who need 405+HP. With all the traffic and cops, its all to easy to lose your license.
You couldnt floor it for more than a few seconds without going way too fast.
Dont get me wrong here... the Z06 was the most AWESOME car I ever owned. I could get rubber on the 3rd to 4th shift every time... and this is with those big ___ 295's on the rear.
But its not a good city driver... the alignment is setup for the track and it wanders all over the road in and out of ruts. But I will miss those freeway ramps and shifting the beast and getting the rear end loose...
The mini actually does the slaloms FASTER the vettes, porsches, etc... iof course its no V8, but a 0-60 in 6.7 is pretty quick for everyday use and some weekend track runs....
But if I could fit in the vette (6'4") with a helmet, I would have kept the beast.

Should have waited for the 06 Mini, it's supposedly turbocharged instead of supercharged.

I guess it is better to drive a slow car fast, than drive a fast car slow!

If I ever owned a car with that much power (Z06) I'd be in trouble.

You'll definitely have fun tossing that mini all over the place.

thats in 07 and I would rather go for the proven supercharged engine. Usually less lag with SC and its going to be rated at the same HP...

They are also going to drop the multi-link rear setup for a cheapo twist beam to save some $$$. But the price will increase to the consumer....

You're right.the M3 is VERY streetable. I was trying to get the best gas mileage that I could in my M3, with high-test being near $2.30, and I just got a very nice 25.8 miles per gallon !!

Try that in a z06 !!

i averaged 18 in the city and got 29 on a road trip... the city mileage is with a heavy right foot... hwy was cruising. Not bad considering the performance.. My bro-in-law has some POS hyundai santa-fe and gets less than I did with the Z.

Why not just turbo charge the supercharged current model? That car in the magazines with that setup is pretty damned wicked.

06 is still going to be supercharged but 06 is the last production model for the current generation MINI. There will be a lot of special options for the 06 models that will not be available on the 05's. The 07's are redesign.
