Default Maint Reqd light is SOLID.

Hey guys, I searched through out this website for info on the Maint Reqd light, and all of the info that I found referred to the blinking light at start up.. I'm fully aware of the blinks on start up to remind you to change your oil, but my light recently went solid. It stays on the whole time that the car is on.

Now, the last time I changed my oil, I never reset the blinking light; so, I'm thinking that maybe since I never disabled it, it lit and stayed solid.

Can I disable it in the same way that I disable it when it does the blinking at start up?

I checked the car over very thoroughly. There are no leaks, rattles, vibrations or anything else out of the ordinary. Is this Maint Reqd light strictly an oil light, or does it let you know when you need to change other things?

Thanks, guys.

the blinking only means its getting close to time to change your oil.
the solid means its now time.

to reset the light: push the reset buton in and hold it.
turn the car to the full on position (don't start)
you will see 5 bars light up and the start dissapearing one at a time (like a count down). when all bars are gone you have reset the system.
the maint reqd is linked to the milage, it doesn't go by oil thickness or ant other means.

your condition is completely normal.

Heck no! Most people think that is just a first aid kit. Plus it is to easy just to ask online.

SOLID? I dunno, I'd say that light is definitely FRESH but I dunno about SOLID.
