Yeah that's what I thought but the belt is a lot further over than the stripe - stripe is about where the oil filler cap is. Coolant cold is half way up the bottle between full and minimum. Guess I will keep an eye on it for the next few week and check underneath for wetness and drips too.

Or maybe Power steering fluid, that stuff is potent. Correct me if Im wrong, but I dont think antifreeze is stong enough to bleach anything pink, and I can't think of any pink fluids

I have different PS fluid and it is not leaking - mine is blue Synlube. The leak starts really built up pink crusty stuff near the front of the hood underside just ahead of the insulation and runs backwards almost like something squirted under the hood while driving. Need to take a photo when the rain stops. There is nothing on the ground where I park either. Maybe a radiator leak while I was moving and it got blown back under the hood. Needs more checking in the garage this weekend.

HEY I think we all forgot about the radio problems changing tuning and I have mine jumping around on the tracks when I adjust the volume sometimes too - I kept the original unit since it really doesn't bother me that much and saves me a trip to the dealer and them messing with my interior.

I remember hearing about this before, take it to the dealer to swap out. As far as the pink crusty stuff... Is it possibly someone threw something at it? there is nothing pink under there, as far as I know. And did it eat into the paint? is it on the engine at all?

Nope just under the hood nothing on the engine at all or anywhere that I could see. Doesn't bother the paint since most of it is on the underhood insulation and the coolent is pink premixed - thought everyone knew that. The old PS fluid I saved in a glass jar and what is weird is that is separated into a dark clear top liquid and a dark cloudy bottom layer about an inch thick in a 5 inch high 26oz spagetti sauce jar.

Yeah the lifetime PINK premixed Toyota coolant - very important to protect the aluminum alloy engine and cooling system. That is why a leak is something you don't want to have - you don't want to just add some water if it gets low.

Caused by hydrolocking after driving through water with cold air intakes (CAI). Either immediate grenading, or if the water passes through without stopping the engine, a bent con rod lets go not long afterward.
I doubt that any "grenaded" engines happen without a CAI and water in the picture.

I had to change my belts after 35k miles. The power steering belt broke. I still get a belt noise when the car is in low idle. I think the belts suck but havent heard anyone else complain. car is at 60k+ some spare change with no major issues.

Over on the Edmund forum, one owner wrote that he replaced 8 windshields in 6 months. He said: "The first few times were from tiny rocks hitting and cracking the windshield, but there have also been 2 stress cracks that I noticed when nothing hit the windshield at all. In the last week I have had to replace the glass 3 times."

The dealer blamed it on pits caused by those pesky trucks. Finally the owner accumulated documents and tape recorded conversations that showed Scion knows of the design defect. He got a lawyer to present the evidence and threatened to sue.
Scion took the cheapest way out, which has apparently become a policy. Rather than pay for those 8 windshields and admit there is a defect, which might set a costly widespread precedent, they said his car was a lemon and bought it back.
Rather than pay up for hundreds or thousands of windshields at $200-300 each, it was much cheaper to buy back and re-sell one car as an isolated lemon.

Oh cool then I should be all set for a few more years then on the tires.

Yeah a lot of SUV type vehicles have nothing in the back for mud flaps and usually have a lot of tire showing but I got hit by a flying rock from a car in the next lane with fat tires that were probably pretty sticky. Pickup truck passing me and pullin back in too soon got me the first time - no one else on the highway so he didn't have to pull in so soon plus he was speeding.

That is a trick question for many cause the steelies are only on part of the year. I'll never really know how many miles the Goodyears were good for.

I remember my first windshield repair. Had a landscaper hauling equipment down the road with dirt and rocks flying. Nothing I could do to avoid it. I pulled up, got the info from the company and had them pay for a new windshield a week later

Yeah! That's why I didn't go for a second set at the same time with new rims - they dry rot before I wear a set out - I don't drive enough around here because there is no place to go where you can travel fast enough to wear out a set of tires.
