25K and only regular maintenance so far. BTW, the automatic transmission filter never gets changed. Just the fluid every 15K. OEM windshield still surviving

I had to change the way I drive. I avoid getting behind gravel trucks or anything for that matter. I get really pi$$ed when someone passes me and cuts over too soon. This is when most rocks get thrown up.

What's with all the windshields? Sounds like too much tailgating. Does your insurance premiums start going up after the first 2?
Also, what does the paint on the front end look like with that kind of rock damage?

No tailgating here, just bad luck. Lost my first one from a rock from an on-coming car. Second one was from a rock from a car in the lane next to me.

Well, I bought the first windshield out of pocket. The second was insurance. This leaked, burnt up my stereo and soaked my car. Free replacement. The free one cracked (stress) 3 weeks later. Another freebie. I caught a rock 20 hours after installation, and before I got the car stopped it was cracked halfway across the windshield. Time for another insurance claim along with a rant about how cheap Safelite's glass is. So this makes my 5th replacement (6th piece of glass in the car.) My front bumper looks like ____. My hood is chipped all over. There are a few other chips that are pretty good sized on the sides of the car. (not door dings, rock chips on the leading edges of body panels.) My car will be getting painted in the next year or two.

How is the area around the windshield holding up to all the installs??? I'm scared as heck about when and if I ever need to have one put in. Don't need damaged paint on top if it all.

Mines in good shape. Rock chips, but no damage from installers.

I've heard horror stories about dashboards getting cut and scratched up. Do they pull off the inner trim around the windshield when the do the install??

Uhmmm, there is no "inner trim". It's the headliner, a pillars (i guess you could remove that trim) and the dash.
