yesterday i am washing my car i never use brushes at all never just spray down and dry i go to flagship, so i am drying my car off next thing i know on the right side passenger door i notice something and i am thinking its like dry salt spot that i missed nope clear coat missing so ok i go on drying my car again on my fender clear coat missing from what i have seen there are about 4 spots all on the right side specks of clear coat missing. what should i do i will definitely take it to my dealer to show them but we'll see how that goes. anyone having problems like that?

do you use high pressure nozzle or pressure washer ot clean/rinse..?

i don't know at flagship if its high pressure but it is pressure wash definitely and i hold it out about 2 feet i never put it in to close to the car

 

im gonna go to the dealer tomorrow and ill see what the outcome will be.

 

i'll post some pictures soon see how it comes out so you all know what i am talking about....

 

I read all these stories about paint issues but I haven't seen any cars with problems so I'm real interested in any pictures. As a dealer I definately want to be out in front on this kind of issue and, I'm sure, Scion and your dealer(s) will too.

Maybe the rest of us should pray that ours starts peeling also! Then we can get the Quality paint we should have gotten in the first place (FACTORY) LOL

 

yeah if mine starts to peel i hope i get a whole new paint job to fix my rock encounters on the front

looks like its just peeling. i dont have salt really to worry aobut. just the ocean and the surrounding air. but im 7 miles from shore

 

I don't need salt or ocean air, my paint comes right off with a regular wash cloth!

But seriously, I keep it waxed like a *****, cuz the paint is so fragile on these cars!

We should demand a recall and get new paint jobs!!!

I thought mine was peeling too, so I took it in to the dealer and they said it was moisture under the clear coat. put some heat to it and wounldn't you know it. All gone

 

Weird.... I've had my xB for almost a year now and the paint is close to perfect. I can't find any major flaws in it. It's better and less orange peel like than my Jetta.

I noticed a couple small chips on mine. One on the hood, and on the front fender.

 

i had my rear rocker pannel looked at. clear coat chipping. it was re clear coated today, warranty. chips wont be covered. thats a given. rocks and stuff does that.

 

My car came stock with major swirl marks all over the car. Don't know if that's normal or not.

 

swirls arent normal let the sales manager know and bring it back. theyll re wax it or clean it for you.

 

You mean to tell me you didnt have to pay extra????

 

sleeper did you take it to the dealer? its covered under warranty.
