Default My ligh install story...

This is good stuff. I'm notorious for not planning a dang thing. Such was the case when I got a set of optilux 2500s for my xA. Well, I did get them in finally. Here was my adventure. Got the lights on a thursday. Was geeked. Friday, removed the bumper for first time ever (sounds easy enough, sure). Looked at the lights and the included brackets. Realized i needed longer screws if I was gonna make this happen. Didn't have keys to the other car, put the bumper back on and called it a day.

Day 1 pic:

So, I had stuff to keep me busy the rest of the weekend so car stayed lightless. Now lets go ahead to the following thursday. Took the bumper off again (becoming easier). Had purchased longer screws so I could put them on. Was mounting lights when neighbor across the street said, "hey, when you're down, come on over for 5 beers." Okay, so I got both lights mounted, said wiring be damned (it was 8pm by now), and went to have the beers. Here's pics of non functioning lights the day after.

Day 8 pic:

Flash forward to this morning. Decided to finally do the wiring. Took the bumper off (quite easy at this point). Hooked up lights and ran wiring into engine compartment. Reattached bumper for last time Started doing the wiring, got a nice spark of my lug wrench puttin' power in place. Attached the li box. Ran the wires through the firewall through existing wires hole. Popped out one of the existing switch covers. Used a drill to make a square in it (it worked, didn't it). Put it all together, tied off some wires and presto...done No new pics but interesting breakdown:

Install - 16 days
hours - 10 (i think)
lights working - 2
lessons learned - 0
total beers - 10

So tonight, I will finally see if it all paid off.

You can wire it to work with your existing parking lights, or wire it to turn on with the 3 way rocker switch they provide.
