Default My Salvage xB - Before and After (Updated Oct 17th!!)

Heres pics of my 2005 XB I just got, can't wait to get this thing fixed and get it on the road! It's hit in the left rear quarter and that's about all the damage.

I paid 4500$ for it, and it does have rear seats, we just removed them already to get started on the repair process.

I'll post some updates as I go along.

Oct. 9th

New pics of the paint process.

Oct 13th

Oct 17th

Finished up with all repairs, waiting to get it titled. Overall price for this xB is about 5700$. I will be getting some Black Sportsmax 501 15 or 16" rims around Christmas time, as for now I'll get some winter tires mounted on the steelies and run them in the winter.

nice find, i ve always wished i had the time and skills to take a car marked for salvage and turn it into something custom that i hand built with pride.

The xb looks good just a minor dent in the back that needs worked out.

That's gonna take a hell of a lot of work.
Especially making sure all of the rust is taken care of.

I'm also curious how much you picked that bad boy up for. That damage is minor compaired to others. I'd have fun bringing that back into shape. This is exactly what I'll be looking for in a few years. Lucky Dog I hate you

put price in original post, this thing cost me 4500$, I'm a fortunate youngster (17 years old) who has a dad who is great with cars, he's been working in a garage since he was 13 and he has done many custom car projects. Anyways I'm selling an S-10 xtreme because I wanted to get something that was better on gas and better in the winter and my dream car has been an xB and we were lucky enough to find this one and it shouldn't cost more than 5500$ once we're finished. This xB also has 32k miles.

Great price bro! $5500 should be about right to get it back to stock. Mods will add up quickly once they begin.

Yeah the cheapest xB I could find on the market was around 7-9 grand so I'm glad I got this. I got some cathodes to throw under the dash and seats and I want to get some 15s or 16s sometime, maybe after the winter. Also looking for a good subwoofer set up.

Great find!

Although I can't see the extent of the damage from your photos, I'm surprised the vehicle was considered salvage. Unless there's some nasty suspension damage, it doesn't look that bad.

What was the damage to the car that led to it being "totaled"?

It doesn't have any damage besides the cosmetic damage in the pictures, so yeah it is somewhat odd that it's considered salvage but who knows what insurance companies these days think. There was also a minor dent in the roof from the impact but it should just pop out when we pull the frame. The engine and everything runs great though, I'm very pleased with the price.

You win the 'who got their xB for the cheapest' contest by far. although it has damage, it's fixable - it's not like you're trying to revive a car that was wrapped around a tree or something. lol

best of luck dude, you got an awesome deal!

So it's all bumped and ready for paint already? You going stock on the paint or something custom?

Yeah it's pretty much set for paint tomorrow, might have to wait for another part of the front bumper to come in though (there was some minor scuffs on the front and one of the front bumper pieces may be cracked beyond repair) but other then that yeah its pretty much ready for paint. My dad is on disability from work for a bit so he has nothing else to do during the day and enjoys doing auto work so it works out great for me.

I'm just sticking to the original paint but I'm putting a couple vinyls on it I made in school, it's gunna say SCION on the bottom of the driver side doors, an idea I got from somebody's BCP ride on the site. I'll post pics and how much it cost to fix her up once its done hopefully by the end of this weekend. I also could be in the market for some rims in the future.

That was mine but it's not maroon. It's Black Cherry Pearl or BCP for short.

Wow I didn't even notice it was yours, lol. Do you mind if I use your idea? I really love the color you chose for yours, it goes well with your paint. I'm going to do mine in black.
