Default NEED HELP. ran over branch and ripped a wire out and now abs, trac, and avs are on??

So i guess i ran over a branch and it got caught in my axel(screwed it up) and also tore out a wire and sensor and now my dash lite up. This is my front passenger side btw. I ordered a new axel but im not sure what wire/sensor i need. If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

P.s. trac, abs, and avs or w/e lights are on.

Just look for any wires that are torn apart from each side, you allready know were to look if it is more than one go to your dealer tell them the location and then you can locate the name of each wire and replace..And if it broke a axle wth did you run over and why did you not avoid it??

thanks for the suggestion. Its actually weird. It was a long thin branch that got wrapped around the axel. This is what my mechanic is telling me though. Does that sound weird? It makes sence cuz my dash lights just popped on out of no where and wont go off so something had to happen. And i def would of avoided a branch but i didnt see it which is also odd.

not very familiar with these on the scions, but it could be like your mechanic said. abs sensor, or wheel speed sensors, or the wires for those or something. those would trigger an abs light, and it is definitely logical since they're down there, and could have been affected by that branch.

^ Its gotta be it, I cant find anything else that it could be besides the abs speed sensor. Which sucks cuz the front ones go for around $160. Guess i got to suck it up. Thanks for everyones help.

sounds like you ripped your abs sensor out..or at least the wire....buy a new one...plug it in install it and your problem should be over

with luck you might even be able to repair the one you have...
if you are unsure where it is located..look at the other side

Thanks, i cant find anything that is just the abs sensor. I just see a abs speed sensor. Same thing i would think right? I dont think it can be repaired because he said the sensor is damaged.

So how much more obvious can this situation get? Replace the sensor, what's the problem?

There is a sure way to find out: read the fault code that causes the CEL to be on.
Example: Code C0200/31 : Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor Signal Malfunction . As you can see it's called "Wheel Speed Sensor". There is one at each wheel.

There is still going to be a fault code specific to ABS/TRAC system that's causing the warning lights to be on.
Since you already know the wires are damaged there is no need to continue with diagnosing it. $160 is the lowest you can buy genuine new Toyota sensor for. May be cheaper for aftermarket one if they are available. Just remember that left and right are different part numbers for some reason.

those abs lights used to drive me crazy on my old 97 f-350. i remember it came on once, and i got the part, and my best friend helped me replace it, and then it came on again a year later, and i just gave up, and finally fixed the other one when i was getting rid of it so the value wouldn't be too low.
