Default new buyer need info

Hi,
I'm in the process of ordering an XB. Money is really tight and I see that I can get somethings online that are a lot cheaper than the dealer. Question, when ordering parts... do they come with instillation instructions or not?

I'm also interested in getting the "dots" for the exterior or the roof racks... can these be put on by a non-professional/newbie? Or does should they be done by someone that can work on cars?

Oh... do the "dots" last? Or are they a rip-off?

Thanks!

:D - - The good news is that all the Toyota Factory Parts I purchased aftermarket were both cheaper, and came with good installation instructions.

Default ...BUY BONE STOCK....

Dealer options are a total rip off. You will hate yourself if you get a roof rack from the dealer and then learn about a better rack at 1/3 the price aftermarket. Learn to search for terms like "roof rack" and see the many threads about the subject. Enjoy and learn from the many pictures posted here.
Buy bone stock. I bought floor mats as my only option and see they are about $50 cheaper on the web aftermarket. I think you must be nuts to want the dots. They can be added later, more cheaply, if you decide that you really do want them, and yes, threads that I have read here, say with a steady hand and confidance, you can apply decals yourself. Go to the DIY (do it yourself) section and read up before you try it.
They don't wear out, people just get sick of them and remove the dots.

Good choice on the xB!
The factory vinyl is premium but the dots are a rare sight. I've only seen a few with that design. Personally I like the scion logo much better. Or you could do your own design by ordering them from one of the many online graphic companies.
I imagine the roof rack comes with instructions but unsure if you'd have to drill holes (ouch!)
Also avoid the factory wheels. They are way overpriced for what you get and now you don't even get the hubcaps and steelies back if you do get them.
Good luck with whatever you decide on!!!

Sorry to be such a newbie... but where do I find the DYI stuff? I don't see it.
