Default New Deck Small Problem

Hello All,

Iinstalled my new Pioneer Deck last night and it sounds great. I am surprised how much better the factory speakers sound with a aftermarket deck VS the factory one.

How ever i do have 2 small problems i hope someone can help me with.

1) On the wire harness i purchased for the factory harness ( NOT THE DECK HRNESS) the is a wire called POWER ANTANA nd on the harness for the deck there is no wire calledd that Do i jus leave it be o an i supost to wire it to some thing else?

2) My second problem might have something to do with my frist I have evry little to no radio reception. With the factory deck i had great recption but not know. And before some one asksYES i did pug the antana in to the new deck.

Can any one pease help me out?

Thanks

Do a search for "radio reception" or the like.

The xB uses a powered antenna as Improbcat said and needs this connected to +12v. I cannot remember exactly which wires they were. Lots of posts on this will help you out.

G/L!

Hook the power antenna wire up to the deck. Use the remote wire on the deck. It should be blue. The xB needs power to the antenna. Thats why your getting bad reception.

Check and make sure :
A) you have the correct wire hooked up. I *believe* there is a blue AND a blue w/yellow or white trace.
B) Make sure with a DMM that there is +12v there when you turn the car on.

I have the blue wire that says "power antenna" hooked to the wire for the new deck that says the same thing.

^^Then see step "B" next...

It looks like a brown w/red trace wire according to a .pdf diagram I have. The xB wiring harness will not say "power antenna" on any wires.

Use the DMM, Luke!

Glad it helped!

Ya, my bad there! Black/Red!

I used the wiring diagram for an '04 xB (Thanks Jeff/bB2NER!) and it was "B R". A meter will be the key. Needs to be hot with the acc'y on OR radio on.
